If you're looking for an accommodation in Golden, don't hesitate one second : go to Dreamcatcher Hostel!!! Best hostel I've ever been to. Common space with wood fire, huge kitchen with everything you need, everything is extremely clean and the staff is so nice and helpful! Highly recommended.

First time tried hostel, and Dream Catcher gave our family an excellent impression. The room is unbelievably clean, I don't see any dust, even at the corner. The shared shower/wash room is extremely clean. The staff is very friendly, provided laundry service. The kitchen is spotless, with all the utensils you will need to make a hearty meal. The IGA store is 3 minutes walk, very convenient. We stayed for two nights, very happy.

Flexible check in times, kind receptionist. The front door is locked so it is very secure as you need a key to enter from the street. My husband and I stayed in the small suite with a private washroom. Comfortable and clean.

We did not stay in this accommodation but had an interaction with the owner that left a bad taste in our mouths. We popped in to see if the hostel provided luggage storage for non-residents. The girl on the desk didn't know the answer but text her boss Simon to check. Simon proceeded to ask us a number of detailed questions about the size of the bags, how long we needed storage and why etc. which is perfectly fair. At the end of the process he stated quite bluntly that we should go ask whoever we were staying with (despite already knowing that we had, this was one of the questions we were asked). There was no way to interpret this beyond rudeness. We enquired about a service that we were willing to pay for. A simple no, or we don't provide that service, would have sufficed and politeness costs nothing. I've stayed in any number of hostels that are happy to make some extra money this way. The staff on the desk we're lovely and the hostel itself looked clean and well cared for. Hopefully this was a one off.

Very clean hostel with comfortable beds and great common area with large easy to use kitchen. Location is great. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants and easy ~15min drive from Kicking Horse.Would be 5 stars if the the internet was faster and more reliable. Constant disconnects and painfully slow upload and download speed made it very difficult to work from the hostel. If you don't require a good internet connection this place is great.

My first time staying at a hostel, though we didn't share a room with others as we ended up having the room to ourselves. Got worried when we were asked to leave our shoes by the front door but was pleasantly surprised to find the entire place to be spotless! The room and bathroom was clean. We didn't really spend any time in the common area like the kitchen because we arrived late at night, but it looked cozy. They have a kitchen you can use, but it's off-limits at 11pm though and no food allowed in the room, so midnight snacks were out of the question. I saw a lot of people coming in, but the place was generally quiet. I reckon this is similar to how a bed and breakfast runs, except you don't get served breakfast. Overall, our experience was great. I would've given it a 4 because we couldn't eat in the rooms but not their fault since it's part of their policy, so a 5.

Nice hostel, well located near restaurants, cafes and walkpaths. Like every town along Hwy 1, expect the sound of the trains and the hwy traffic at all times of the day and night. But still don't dismiss stopping at this hostel as the comfort, privacy and cleanliness in the dorm room and common areas makes up for it.

Great place. Clean. Spacious common areas and restrooms. High pressure, hot showers. The wooden frame around the bunk bed was a bit uncomfortable because I am very tall. The train goes through Golden in the middle of the night, so earplugs/closing windows is recommended to sleep well. As stated on the website, linens/towels are provided. Bring clean flip flops (no shoes allowed).
