This place is not too much to look at but they are taking amazing care of my Grandfather on the 2nd floor. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to keeping our family member safe in a pandemic. We are so grateful for your amazing staff!

They are currently cutting back on nurses and nurses assistants to save money and instead of laying people off they are forcing people to quit; I’m pretty sure this is to prevent any loss of government funding. After these changes proper care is not possible and patient care will be greatly reduced.A couple years back a family donated a substantial amount of money to Good Sam with the instructions to buy things to help care for patients. Instead one of the managers, Deb, stole it. Deb was forced to resign, the money was not returned and no report of the money going missing was made. They just covered it up.

I love this place! It is my favorite place to work! I miss everyone there. The staff was a great team to work with! Most of all I miss all the resident there. I can't wait to go visit them. Its been too long since I been there!

No stars for this place . It stinks , the staff beat the residents if they don't listen, its a bad place for anyone time to look somewhere else and the unit clerks are non professional especially the lady on the first floor, shes an asian , thinks she's all it ! Always flirting with workers and family . She's gross and think she's all it . She asked for my phone number, one day i was seeing my father , i told her no thanks i am married and she said so am i.Thats the way that place is workers flirting with workers.There is no profesonalism at all in that place . its a bad place for your parents and they should of shut it down years ago. The only reason they got one star was because you cant post unless you give them a star

The staff is exceptional!! They provided personal attention to my aunt in the most gentle and loving ways, always treating her with respect. Each staff member got to know her as a valuable individual, and even got to know all of those who visited her. This includes the head nurse, the care givers, the social worker, the cleaning staff and even the greeter at the entrance! My phone calls were ALWAYS happiliy recived day or night when I inquired about my aunt. The facility is very easily accessed from the Whitemud Freeway and has ample parking right in front of the entrance. I would most definately recommend them!!

Today, June 23rd 2020 is one year since my dad (Werner Frenzel) passed away here, my sister and myself would like to thank you folks again for the great care that you had given him in his last few months. Peter & Christa.

My Mum was (unfortunately) a patient there. If the horrible STENCH doesn't get you as soon as you walk thru the door, the DECREPIT conditions WILL!!While the nursing attendants ARE great...the RN'S are the most unprofessional, rude staff I've EVER encountered.Well before the pandemic, this facility has an UNBELIEVABLE record of closures due to Influenza outbreaks. In one year it totalled SIX..2 of which lasted 3 weeks or longer. Thankfully, we got our Mum transferred out...but not before a fellow resident stole (and wore) my Mothers teeth.

To the person who wrote a review below and attacked a staff specifically with description, I dare you to come forward and show yourself.Every person is entitled to write reviews and reiterate the care experience for their family members and loved ones in the facility but degrading a person/staff who is completely opposite of what describes and not even related to care is so low.The facility is not perfect, there are always a bad comments and cannot please everyone, but one thing is certain, the staff here are amazing dealing with everything. They are doing the best they can to provide good quality care.One mistake is not a mistake of all

The Care workers at Good Sam Southgate are the unsung heroes and are the only reason why I give this facility even one star. Just the Care workers themselves deserve 5 stars. They are caring and hard-working people who are under-paid and over-worked. Management for this facility are horrendous. Site managers seem to be part of a swinging door. They come and go regularly. No one stays - why is that? Site communication is also terrible. For example, a letter or email is sent alerting family of an outbreak. Do we get any updates? No. More often than not they are short-staffed on the floor so residents can go for a long time without being tended to because one worker is expected to look after too many residents at one time. The building is in terrible shape - cracked ceilings and walls, worn hand railings, things held together with tape, dirty shower chairs, an ice/water machine that never works properly, and so on. Residents were recently advised of yet another cost increase. Not sure where that money will be going, but it certainly is not going toward the non-management workers or building maintenance. Food - they do a decent meal there. However, everyone is fed the same diet no matter what their health issue is. Some building upgrades and attention to staff could make this place much better.
