Total Pet

Great hours, friendly staff! Was very happy to find a place in Dawson that carried frozen rodents for my ball python, they have a wide selection of sizes available as well. My snake likes the rats from Total Pet a lot better than the ones that the big chain stores carry. Only negative is that there is no mention of these on their website.

I was houssitting a friends gecko for a month and whenever i needed somthing total pet was excellent in helping me out. Very friendly staff and reasonable pricing. Cant wait to have to go back

Staff is so friendly and helpful. Great selection and good prices. It would be nice if their parking spots weren't always used by the gym patrons, but that is out of their control

I like this store for the variety of Canadian made products. Prices are of course not cheap but neither is the quality of the products. The staff also are well versed in their products which I find a valuable and rare commodity.

I find that the staff weren't very helpful, they chated at the counter while i found my own way around the store. The products on the shelf weren't very fresh. My rabbit wouldn't eat the Timothy I bought there because it wasn't fresh enough. I had to purchase more at another store that had a fresher selection.

If I could give this store less than 1 star I would. Staff sit in their office all day. They come out when a customer comes in but dont come out behind the counter ever. Never offered any assistance in this store. I went in twice today looking for a specific item and not once did somebody approach me. Staff saw me and actively avoided me. If there was another place in town that carried what I needed I would never enter this establishment again.

I love the store but with the new fish tank setup the employees need much more training on how to keep the fish residence happy. Pretty sad when the tanks have nearly a handful of food floating on the surface of a 10 gallon and the fish arnt eating , fish stuck to filters/surface of the water and a poor gold fish struggling to survive at the bottom of another tank. Tried notifying and showing the girl with tattoos and stretched ears but got the response of no I'm good still learning but wouldn't take any advice lol. Fish are way overpriced aswell compared to most other pet stores.

Decent pet store. Has a lot of selections and seems to stay away from garbage food for your pets. The cat products is what we came in for, and was what I expected. I was hoping for more rod toys and attachments however I found other stuff I just couldn't find in Ontario. The bbf omg(oh my gravy) wet cat food and churu's are always a hit with every cat I meet, and they are healthy alternatives. The staff seemed to have a decent amount of knowledge on the products and put care. They also accommodated my brothers dog at the wash station without a reservation. The place is pretty big and was at a acceptable level of clean. There was some dust build up on products and shelves however I only counted two staff members so it's understandable. Floors where spotless. Overall it was a delightful visit
