My mother's parents and one of her brothers are resting here, along with the brother's wife. From the evidence seen in my visits, plus photos which others have since taken, groundskeeping has been good. Maintenance of headstones and any plantings around them, though, is up to relatives or other individuals. Those who want to plant small bushes or trees in commemoration should be aware that the soil is acidic, nutrient-poor and rapidly drained. Planting holes should be dug deep (thank goodness the soil is easy to dig), and lots of well-rotted manure or leaf mold should be mixed in to improve the moisture-holding capacity and provide a slow-release source of nutrients. Add Dolopril or other dolomite lime (to counter the acidity) plus a potash-rich organic fertilizer such as 4-4-8. Frequent watering should be practiced until the plants are well established.
