The Ark Pet Spaw & Emporium

We started using this facility about a year ago and stopped bringing our dogs back as we were unhappy with the inconsistent pricing for our cockapoo and golden doodle dogs. The staff are unfriendly. As a matter of fact, we went out of our way to be friendly towards them, however they were far from being pleasant! Customer service definitely needs to be improved. I would not recommend this place to anyone. However, if you need to use them strictly for convenience, we would suggest asking for clear pricing BEFORE leaving your fur baby there.

As a new resident in Oakville, I wanted to support local business, despite loving my long time groomer 35kms away. After our first visit, I was told my dog was difficult to work with,xand the groomer could not complete his paws because he moved too much and it hurt her wrists. I thought it was an ergonomic/ occupational risk, but also know that my pup is rambunctious.I booked our next appointment early in the morning to avoid the wrists problem, and I was sure to tire hm out iwith a long walk. This time, his face couldn't be completed because he wanted to play.We won't go where we are not wanted, but I question the preparedness and patience of this team. On both occassions, it was barely an hour before they called me back, suggesting no effort to give the dog or the groomer breaks and try aajn. Past experiences (9yrs) suggest 90 minutes plus for a full grooming appointment??2 successful grooms, no issues, since at another local shop.

Our dog Dele had a traumatic experience with a grooming studio in Milton as he was cut and developed an infection. We were very nervous about finding a new groomer incase something happened again. After a wonderful experience at the Animal Hospital next door, we decided to give The Ark Pet Spaw a try. The receptionist gave him a treat for some positive reinforcement and was incredibly accommodating. We were blown away with the kindness and compassion shown by the staff which clearly rubbed off on our dog because he warmed up very quickly. The cherry on top was that Del received the best groom he ever has ever gotten! We will definitely be back!

My dog is 10 years old, has been getting groomed every couple months for 10 years and never has he received a service like this one. This was our first time here, trying out a new place and the groomer shaved his fluffy coat right down the skin, he was very matted but his groomer before never had a problem shaving him without hurting him or cutting him right down. They cut him several times on his back, and stomach and they hurt his ears so badly he needed to go see a vet after his service to receive treatment for the way they treated him here. I had to not only pay full price for the grooming but I had to pay an even bigger vet bill to treat what they had done. Would not recommend anyone to bring their dog here for grooming.

Wonderful friendly staff who treat our furry kids so well and they always come home looking ready for a dog show. This is our little Leonberger puppy Karma learning to be groomed at 4 months old.

An amazing grooming salon, with friendly, happy workers. Done a great job on the grooming part, takes great care of the pets throughout groom along with a great look for them. No matter the condition the pets come in they always leave looking fabulous and smelling great. The groomers do a great job along with being very patient and careful with the wonderful pets building a connection with them. Front services are organized and always nice. GREAT job guys! am going from 1 star to 3 stars due to the response i got from Judy - i appreciate the responses. so When i collected my Cat, i was told he was so easy to groom - well all i can say is that they did not do a good job... he looks like a rag a muffin... his mane is gone - Lion cut my foot... and no there were not any matts except for one under his chin and it was a little one. I asked for his tail to be left, nope they cut it off and then told me, oh, the paper was lying over the instructions so she did not see to leave the tail. SO in other words they DO NOT look at the full instructions. Then i was totally horrified on seeing this huge cut on his back leg. They did not even have the decency to tell me that they had cut him, I really thought i had found a decent cat groomer and then this... just not impressed!!

My dog and I love this place! I have a 75 lb Labrottie, who won’t let me near his nails, but is perfectly comfortable having them trimmed or grinded by the amazing staff at the Ark. We’ve continued to come here for 3 years. I like that they also stock quality products, from beds and bowls to petwear and accessories. They gave excellent advice in a grooming comb to get for my dog, and are very knowledgeable about pet behaviour. I highly recommend this place!- Cynthia & Ragnar

Been coming to this groomers for about 8 years now, everyone there is amazing, they're all so nice and caring. My dog only needs her nails cut (short haired breed) and is a ball of anxiety, she always does great for the ladies and I think its because she can sense how kind they are. Never had a problem with them clipping too short either (my dogs nails are black so I know it can happen). Prices are fair as well!

Amazing service every time. I highly recommend this place. I have been bringing my dog there since he was about 2 months old. He needs regular grooming. Amanda is caring and gentle with my dog and it is; at least for me; very comforting. She is good at what she is doing and the other staff is also knowledgeable.
