BOATsmart!

Good course. Did the seven modules in one go, which took maybe 3-5 hours (wasn't watching the clock) then immediately wrote the test and got my card with a 96% score. Only complaint is that the little lesson videos had loud music playing behind the instructors voice, so it was like trying to listen to someone talking with a very loud radio playing at the same time. Not sure who the bright spark was that came up with that format, but they should be reassigned and the music removed.

The course is really good, love the layout; it is very user friendly and easy to navigate. The website is responsive and easy to look at/pay attention to.The star missing is on account of some of the modules being VERY repetitive, the loud dubstep music in some of the videos makes it hard to focus while watching and once I did the test there were questions to things that I had not learned about in the course.

Buyers beware! I ordered replacement cards on May 2nd. It's now July 4th and I still have not received them in the mail. They have also stopped responding to emails about the cards not arriving and have not refunded my money. I strongly recommend choosing another Transport Canada accredited boaters exam and avoid dealing with BoatSmart or anything related to the Campfire Collective.

Bad quiz. Quiz questions are not written well. The flow of the course is slow and causes distraction. The minimum amount of time required to proceed to the next slide is too high. I'm writing this review while I wait for that timer to finish. Would recommend going with another license provider.

Course was as expected and did a good job of preparing for the test. However, the videos linked in the course did not work, so I ended up just reading all the material, which was okay except for the fact that there is a timer on each page so you can't move past it until the duration of the video has passed and I can read faster than that.

The lessons were clear and concise. Visuals were very helpful as well. I finished the course within an afternoon and passed!

Worst place to get your license… first they didn’t even send me my card, which deems my license unless without it…I called and asked where it was and they said they couldn’t do anything about it. Then when I had no choice but to buy a new card, they told me through email, and two people over the phone all saying the cost was $19CA. I was later charged $28CA. I honestly feel scammed by this company and they didn’t help me in the slightest. I don’t suggest this company. Too much hassleEdit: I called them 3 months ago.. PAYED FOR A NEW CARD, WAITED 3 MONTHS AND STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT. I WILL TAKE THEM TO COURT IF I DO NOT RECEIVE MY CARD BEFORE MY CONTRACT!!!

I found the course to be very informative. I have always learned a lot from taking tests when you can look back and find the answers that were wrong. I could not get back into the tests to see which answers were wrong.

Very educational with lots of graphics and the quizzes make retaining information easy. However, the course takes closer to 4 hours (you cannot proceed in advance of the minimum time required to read/listen to the lesson).

Extreme timing on course pages created a very poor experience... it forced me to wait a very long time before proceeding to the next topic. I am a quick study and the forced wait time on a hundred or more topics was very discouraging and actually impeded my ability to move through the course... often leaving the pages to do other things, interrupting the flow of the course. I would not use this course again and cannot recommend it.
