Food is good but the service is bad. I read the reviews and everyone made the same complaint. To which, the restaurant replied, service maybe delayed but our chef wants to send out the best. When the restaurant is been appreciated for the food and when you have guests coming then what restricts you in hiring more staff? Be it chef or the server, hire them who can cater to the needs! I was there for a day. Wanted to return before it turned dark. I know the food should be served as ordered but sometimes special requests should be considered. It took more than 45 mins for the food to arrive on my table that too after reminding the server thrice. So the service as a whole is terribly slow which is bad.Now comes the food. Ordered Chicken Noodles which were good. Vada Sambhar was okayish but the chilli chicken dosa was ultimate. Value for money and tasty too. Very well made. But being a South Indian restaurant their chutney and sambhar was not upto the mark. Very bland and not tasty sadly. But my dosa was with a chinese touch hence I didn't need the accompaniment but otherwise it wasn't as it should be.

The butter chicken dosa and chili chicken dosas were very good and I recommend them. The prese tation was messy. The masala dosa, while flavourful, was meager and flattened to the height of a single small pancake. The sambar was meh. The beef peralan was so hard that it was inedible. We left it there, intact. The other dish that we tried and just left was the aviyal. It's made with 10 veggies. It's probably my fault, as I expected something like a spicy ratatouille, but I was hugely disappointed to get something one step away from a veggie puree. Everything was just one big mush, no texture and mostly just coconut flavour. Service was slow but friendly enough.

Food was phenomenal: jerk chicken was packed with flavour. Lamb shank was great. Dosa was crispy. Vegetables were crunchy. Highly recommend. Waitress was very helpful.

I recently dined at The Coconut and had a delightful experience. The restaurant offers a range of Indian dishes but i was attracted towards the South Indian dishes, and I must say, the food was absolutely delicious. We tried the vegetable noodles, Kerala porotta, Kerala pork roast, Malabar prawns curry, sweet lassi, badam milk, and rice with sambar. Every dish exceeded our expectations, leaving us craving for more. The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, and the place was impeccably clean. The service was exceptional, thanks to Lincy, who took great care of us throughout the meal. She made sure to accommodate my toddler's allergies, ensuring a safe and enjoyable dining experience for him.The highlight of our meal was the flaky and scrumptious porotta, as well as the flavorful pork roast. Both dishes left a lasting impression on our taste buds. The vegetable noodles we ordered for our toddler were also top-notch, meeting his preferences perfectly. To complement our meal, we indulged in the refreshing sweet lassi and the tasty badam milk, which were both delightful.Overall, I have no negative feedback to offer about The Coconut. The restaurant provided a simple and good dining experience, and we left satisfied, with plans to visit again in the future.I would like to extend a special mention to Lincy for her exceptional service. Her attentiveness and care added an extra touch to our dining experience.

We were visiting from Surrey and travelling in the area. Decided to visit this as we love our Dosas here in Surrey. Reviews on Google seems fake or maybe old when the food would have been good.We ordered the Mysore Masala and Masala dosa. I can tell you the batter of the dosa is very good. It has a nice flavour and was cooked really well but that was it. Filling inside had no seasoning, Mysore masala was okay but the staple potato masala lacked flavour and seasoning big time. Sambar was totally forgettable way too many vegetables, not hot and again no seasoning. Both chutneys were just a mish mash. Tomato chutney felt like just uncooked tomatoes not blended properly. And the biggest disappointment of course was the namesake of the restaurant The Coconut Chutney. It was just pathetic. No flavour, no seasoning and it felt like they took store bought desiccated coconut and put in a blender with some water. And just to make it look nice they added mustard seeds on top of it. We waited quite a lot for our service and order. Servers were really nice and welcoming but the disappointment was from the kitchen. We never waste our food, but I had to leave majority of my food on the plate. Didn’t want the leftovers either.
