Cornerstone Counselling
I thoroughly enjoyed my summer/student job at Cornerstone Counselling. After working at Cornerstone, I truly grew to admire the impact counseling has on others' lives. I learned a lot from the variety of projects that were provided to me and believe they will be beneficial for my future career aspirations. The staff were very friendly, professional and done a great job at communicating remotely. I would highly recommend Cornerstone to potential clients seeking therapy and candidates for employment.

I communicated with Amanda as she was our community partner through a group project for school. Communicating with Amanda was very easy as she was very open to our ideas. Upon meeting we were able to present what we had at that time and she was very encouraging. She was also very accommodating as she was able to meet whenever we proposed. Overall, it was a great experience and I hope I am able to work with Amanda again in the future.

They quoted me a price and after my first session, charged me double of what they quoted and said that was the new" price moving forward. Thanks for re-traumatizing me with no intention of actually helping. I regret even reaching out to them."

Amanda was wonderful to work with! She helped ease our worries from the first time we met with her, on the first day of this semester, when we had no clue about the project we were doing for Cornerstone Counselling. She treated us as colleagues and I did not recognize any uneven power dynamics. Unfortunately, due to Covid, we were unable to schedule a tour of Cornerstone Counselling or meet Amanda in person, as we had hoped to, however I am thankful for the informal chit-chat we did have when meeting with her virtually. She was very empathetic to our situation as students during a global pandemic, and she made made us feel like valuable contributors/consultants to Cornerstone Counselling!

I was insulted and stigmatized by one of their interns. She insulted and shamed me on 2 of my major issues. She broke my trust entirely and was abusive. I will never return to your centre. I felt very bad about myself after my session with Dawn Davidson. I did get my money back. However then the manager asked if I wanted to see someone else. Not a chance. Your intern needs to be let go. Stigmatizing clients is unacceptable.

I am truly thankful for my experience with cornerstone counselling with the therapist and receptionist (helpful, professional and friendly). I was in hopeless and very heavy place - the journey goes on at different levels and I am really thankful for the sessions, how I was able to gain tools and work through it. Thank you so much for being there.

Do not recommend this place for ANY child who has family/parental trauma. Avoid and find other resources. I'd give them 0 star if I could.

I recommended this place to everyone I knew, because I felt like finally there was a counselor that listened to me, actually.I recently though feel l was taken advantage of a few times, when I had asked them NOT TO CHARGE the card on file, twice this has happened to me.This last time, I was notified that there was a remaining balance on my account, which obviously I would be paying. I had let the receptionist know that I couldn't, right away because I have limited income now, and will have to budget to pay it. It was understood that was ok. Today they just took $100 from my account, without notifying me, and I have rent due. So just be cautious of this company and how the fact you MUST have a card on file when becoming a client of theirs. My therapist left the company, so I will not be recommending this one any longer, just based on that fact alone. You should be contacting your clients no matter what before taking money from them.

I am so glad Cornerstone Counselling is serving Edmonton. I appreciate that they have a sliding scale and are willing to help all. Someone I love has seen a counsellor there and it was very helpful. I am so grateful for kind and compassionate counsellors who are willing to help those who are struggling.I have taken a course with Cornerstone and the group format of learning was life changing. The counsellor led us with wisdom, humour and caring insight. So thankful. Also, great staff!

For the most part my experience at Corner Stone has been really good. The Reception and other staff have been patient and accommodating. Although at times rather disorganized, and uninformed resulting in long waits and delayed deadlines.I have found counselling to be sort of like dating. You might need to try a few before you find the right one. With that being said,I have seen 2 registered Psychologist there who were very good at their ability to help process thoughts, identify emotions and adapt new behaviours. (Nadia & Marliss)However, I have also seen a Registered Provisional Psychologist who I found to be polite, but very apathetic and not helpful. I actually just feel annoyed when I think about my experiences with (Alex).I do give a good review to the Intern (Cory) who was very empathetic, attentive, thought provoking, and encouraging during my session.I would recommend Corner Stone as the counselling that is right for you if you want to incorporate Christianity into your session.
