Lennox Passage Bridge
The electrically powered single-leaf bascule bridge (Lennox Passage Bridge) carrying Nova Scotia Route 320 is in operation during navagation season. When closed, the bridge has a vertical clearance of 21 feet (6.4 metres).Beginning in 2010, marine interests were advised that the heat of the day in summer months may make it impossible for the bridge operator to lift the span, forcing vessels to either wait at anchor or make the voyage around the east coast of Isle Madame.A mechanical problem prevents the bridge from closing properly in high temperatures. Therefore, the bridge may not open if the temperature exceeds 25C (77F).Major work—Replacement/Rehabilitation—began in 2015 and will continue into 2017. The bridge's mechanical problem may be resolved in 2017, but it is unknown how that work will affect navigation. It remains essential to contact the bridge on VHF–16, or by phone at 902–345–2681 to determine its operational status.

It's is one of my favorite places to watch sunsets and take photos on Cape Breton Island.

Review a bridge? Sure, okay. The view on both sides is beautiful, there is minimal road noise and it shouldn't be high enough to trigger anyone's acrophobia. Bonus: at the right time of the year, you may just catch a view of the hawks nesting nearby.
