Matt is a pleasure to work with! He has a keen eye for design and is a great listener. After our first meeting with him, he knew exactly what we were looking for. He offered great design suggestions and we left him to create our beautiful walkway and garden beds.He is a perfectionist and works tirelessly to please his customers. Outstanding work and workmanship! Matt with his team Blake and Jesse transformed our broken down driveway and entrance way into a very aesthetically pleasing and functional front yard. Matt provided the great idea to redo the complete area and shift the driveway over, finishing it with gardens on both sides. The result is a fantastic new curb appeal to the complete property. The landscape lighting also allows the work to be admired 24/7. We have received many compliments on the project as well as compliments on the team for their meticulous workmanship and tidy operations from neighbours and passersby. Very pleased with all aspects of the project.

We are very pleased with Matt and the team at Hardscape Ottawa. Matt is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to hardscaping. From the time we got our quote, to the completion of the project, he was present to answer our multiple questions and provide his best advice. Although our fìrst consultation virtual, he was able to provide a few design ideas and a quote. Upon the begining of the project, he didn't hesitate to adjust the design for a better result. His team is professional, friendly and hardworking. We look forward to using our new outdoor living space for many years to come!

We hired Hardscape to complete a large front/back project, which involved multiple spaces (Driveway, covered deck, shed, gazebo, various paths etc.) & features (fire, water etc). Our reason for going with Hardscape was that out of 6 or 7 quotes, we received; Matt was the most knowledgeable, the one who came most prepared for our meetings, and recommended practical solutions to some of the problems we were facing in our design.There were a few things that stood out for us during our build:- Matt reviewed our design multiple times, due to unforeseen circumstances without any complaints and this was before we had even committed to him (most companies will only allow one revision).- The product/design recommendations, that were provided were very unique and will allow us to enjoy our space for years to come.- Matt’s extremely knowledgable and this came across during the build process (e.g using graphix wall for our front steps).- Hardscape provides a very comprehensive warranty for their workmanship and soft scape material (this was very important to us, due to the number of plants/trees that were used).- He took our suggestions seriously and discussed/incorporated them in our final design plan.- The sub-contractors he used, were also complete professionals and clearly very good in their respective trades.- There were some minor issues that remained as the project was delayed last year; but they were all resolved this spring to our satisfaction.We did have a disagreement about the additional cost of some of the services etc. that were added during the project; however, we were able to resolve it amicably with Matt, which is exactly what one can ask for with any project.I think it’s important for me to mention that during our driveway excavation; we along with everyone else in our neighbourhood were amazed at how deep they dug to ensure proper stability of the base. Matt was able to leverage his relationships with those in the industry, to inquire and thereby use proper material/multiple layers to ensure the driveway would last for years to come.I am confident in saying that Hardscape and their team (James, Liam), are one of the best one’s in Ottawa and because of the above mentioned reasons; I would highly recommend anyone for their services.

Hardscape delivered a beautiful design and construction with meticulous craftsmanship for the front steps, walkway and porch of our new modern home. Perfect job from start to finish. Matt did similar work for a neighbour and I was so impressed with his work I decided to get him to give my property a much needed overhaul. Right from the start Matt listened to what we requested and then delivered a detailed 3D model of what the finished design would look like. With the exception of one change by me (sod in once place instead of river stone) the end product looked exactly like what we has agreed upon.The entire process was fast once work began, Matt even worked Saturdays to make sure he was on time with the project. His crew were professional and always made sure everything was cleaned up at the end of the day so we could get in and out.Highly recommended.

Matt is an excellent craftsman and is a consummate professional, he did our side yard and backyard and what a fabulous job. The thing with Matt is he knows his stuff! he provides design input, assists in putting the pieces together to ensure your yard (front or back) is the best it can be.
