Velux makes impressive Skylights...... but for me to struggle to find a flashing kit.... is ridiculous!!!Availablity and service can only be described as ... a joke!!!My recommendation.... find another company to deal with:)

Installed one in our new kitchen 3 years ago during renovation. It is wonderful.The Velux is remotely controlled and includes a blind as it faces south.One huge bonus is the amazing reduction/elimination of cooking odours when open during cooking; even fish is no longer an issue.Highly recommend!

Horrible customer service.I bought 2 $600 dollar skylights from Home Depot, the agent called so I could pick them up as it was urgent(my roof was being replaced and contractors suddenly decided they couldn't complete job properly..steel roof.I was in a hurry.We were told yes.I could pay in store and do pickup 10 km away at warehouse.I drive to the warehouse. They tell me I can't have them.This is Home Depot....I didn't just show up out of the blue!.I had paperwork and a PO.They turn customers away??No explanation offered. Poor employee attitudes, ..funny thing is ,they have kitschy/motivational slogan ,little building blocks that form a house,I guess for employees to play with in the warehouse.Very poor service.Never again.

We have the solar powered skylight with automatic rain sensor. The rain sensor stopped working after two years. Can't get anyone to help. Apparently it's a problem that they've (Velux and the installer) never heard of happening before.

Product is pretty good but phone in help line is awful. I called 15 minutes before closing and 5 minutes before closing they disconnected me. That'll make sure you get off work on time! Called back another time and told her I wanted a new remote and she first said she didn't know whether that part was obsolete or not (6 yrs old), maybe I should call a dealer. I persisted and she said she'd send me a list of things to try to see if was the remote or the operator. Well the light at the end of the remote wasn't coming on so I thought that was a strong indicator but she had to send me the test. Of course, she didn't send it.Fortunately I live 20 minutes away from the office so I'll drive over and i will be harder to dismiss in person.

I am disappointing that my skylight winch I purchased in 2011 does not have ready available blinds. Up charge of over $200 doesn't seem fair. Just beware when you buy you get all the information you need. Customer service was so - so.

We have 3 Velux solar powered skylights which we had installed 4 years ago. They are an amazing product - when they work. Ours only worked for 2 years. We had all three repaired - parts covered under warranty, but the service call was expensive. They worked beautifully again for 2 months after the repair. After the snow melted and we went to open the skylights again, only 1 of 3 worked. We contacted customer service once and got no response, even allowing for a lengthy delay in response time due to COVID-19. Hopefully the second request gets through. Although these skylights have the potential to be excellent, our experience has been that they don't work as expected, and have a very high after-installation repair cost that should be factored into your budget if you purchase this product.

We owned 3 acrylic skylights for over 30 years. We had major problems which seemed to pop up every 4 years or so. We finally went to VELUX (I'm a slow learner) and replaced them all with sealed tempered glass with krypton gas between the panes. What a huge difference! They are warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Stronger and way more durable! Plus... no more condensation problems with water running down the walls, or collecting in huge beads on the skylights and raining down when the sun came out! I should have made this move when they first needed replacing! I highly recommend Velux... learn from my mistakes...it will be cheaper for you!5 Year Update:They are still 100% fine, both in looks and in operation! Cold winters, hot summers and the occasional racoon stomping all over them has not caused any leaks or cracks. I'm happy to recommend Velux!
