Buff Moving

I've had a five star and a two star experience with this company. They can typically book you within a week so it's good for quick moves. It really depends on which movers you get on the day. My advice is to record all the timings (arrival, departure) and make them known to the movers at the time (text them for proof) so they charge you an amount in line with their rate.

This company is an absolute SCAM and are disgusting the way they lie, especially to vulnerable people. They stole $150 from my mother as a “deposit” and completely ruined her move. She was left to find movers very last minute - good thing a reputable company Two Small Men with Big Hearts could squeeze her in. “Buff Moving” confirmed the move for 9am last Saturday and sent her a bogus EMAIL half an hour before the scheduled move blaming it on a truck not working. They didn’t have the decency to call. And have lied multiple times since saying they are sorry and will send my mother back her deposit. They are liars. My family has followed up and they apologized via Facebook and email. Never called, then blocked my sister (the one who was initiating the communication) on Facebook. And they have pushed back sending the deposit back twice. We are reporting to police and will be taking every action to ensure they never do this to anyone again. Beware of “Jeff Watson” and whoever else works for this disgusting company. Taking advantage of people during such a vulnerable time, a move, is horrendous. And during a pandemic. Disgraceful.

Do not use this company!!!! (Unless you just want to throw away money and do the job yourself anyway) I contacted Jeff in September to hire him for a move for today at 9 am. I booked and paid the deposit within a couple days of the initial contact. He texted me this morning at 7:50 am to let me know someone was sick and that he would have to do it in the afternoon. I texted immediately asking what time, with no response. I called every half hour for 4 hours and he did not answer. Finally at 2:30 I messaged and emailed him saying that he can give me my deposit back by 4 or I would make my complaints to the police fraud unit and also consumer protection. He IMMEDIATELY messaged back saying that he was just waiting to pick someone up and they would head over. I said I would rather just have the deposit and not deal with him. He then said he would send the deposit right away. I have not received anything. Still waiting Jeff.

Have used Buff movers several times now.Always a great job done. Always return calls, they are very flexible if there is a twist. I have no problem giving Jeff and his crew the 5 stars they deserve.

Unfortunately I fell victim to the same circumstances of the rest of these reviews. I didn’t do my research before hand because a couple years ago my friends had used buff and strongly recommended them. Jeff is so very quick to respond when you first inquire. Not only will he email you he follows up immediately with texts. Arranges everything for you and asks for a deposit of $150. He will message you until he receives that deposit and then you will never hear from him again. You can email- call - text- Facebook message he just ignores. As if moving isn’t stressful enough for people he just leaves you high and dry on the day of. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND.Thank god for Popeyes movers who squeezed me in at the end of their day and were the kindest people while helping me move.

We just used Buff this week to move from Winnipeg to outside the city. The guys were absolutely fantastic, cannot stop telling everyone about how great our experience was with them. They arrived a few minutes early and were fully prepared with all necessary gear. They were very fast but beyond that they were extremely careful and respectful with all of our things and our house. They laid down mats to protect our floors and took special care around all walls.They were friendly and professional. Highly recommend them, you won’t be disappointed with their service!

Do not hire Buff. We made arrangements weeks in advance and I secured them by sending the $150 deposit Jeff Watson requested. On moving day they didn’t show up or answer messages which lead to us making last minute arrangements. Days later they still haven’t gotten back to me and have stolen my money.Their number is now out of service. They are scammers.

SCAM Do not book with this company. I had used Buff several years ago and they were great, but they were a no-show for my daughter's move and left her stranded!!! What an awful thing to do!!! And that $150 deposit that was promised to be refunded, will never be seen again. Pathetic!

Hire Buff Moving! They moved my upright piano for me and were awesome to deal with. The day of the move my girlfriend ended up having to go for a covid test and I had to ask them only a few hours before the move to reschedule me until after her results came in. Jeff was great to deal with and super courteous. The test hours came back the next morning (negative thankfully) and they were able to fit me in that same day! They had all the equipment, were super efficient and quick. They were also a better deal than a lot of the other companies I got quotes from. Totally recommended.

If 0 stars was a rating, they'd get it. I say this as a warning to anyone looking DO NOT BOOK!Long story short we were stood up. Booked, paid a deposit, and the movers didn't show and won't respond.Long story:This was my second move using their services, or rather it was supposed to be. My first was in 2020 from a small first floor 1 bedroom apartment to a 3rd floor 2 bedroom. Everything went smoothly. They arrived on time, had no issues with furniture, or the 3-floor walk-up, and we're completed in a timely and affordable manner. So when I needed to move again it was a no-brainer.We called Jeff, who then told us to book and contact via email. We booked for a Friday 2 weeks in advance and gave a $150 deposit. The day before the move we emailed just for confirmation for our 10AM-10:30AM time slot. He responded saying they'd be there. Perfect! We'll the next day 10 rolls by, then 10:30, then 11. We email him asking if they're behind, no response. 11:30 another email and a call. Nothing still. 12... another call, you get the idea. By 12:30 we start calling in other movers and let me tell you, last-minute movers are not cheap. We speak with several companies telling our situation and being told that this has been happening a lot lately. Specifically, when we mention Buff Moving they note that we're not the only ones to have had this problem over the last few months with them. We were also warned that getting our deposit back won't be easy.So there you have it. We ended up moving with another company called Shortline. A little more money than we wanted to spend but nice people who helped us out of a pinch.
