Atlantic Superstore Main Street

Went in for a light hot snack at the food counter. Item was $3.49. Went to pay for it at the same place only to discover they replaced the cash register with a self checkout machine. No good if you’re paying cash. Went all the way back to the cashiers where there was only two registers open and I had to wait in line for roughly 10 minutes. When I finally got back to my vehicle my item was cold so I threw it in the cash. Will be unlikely to go back!

Super clean and organized! But could have just one more person on the tills though. After reading other reviews I realize this is a major problem for this location and reduced the stars because it seems management cares more about saving $ then they do customer experience. ...staff was quite friendly.

Don't get me wrong. I love superstore, the products they carry and the layout of the store. I just don't agree with the cash/self scanning system and the tactics they employ. I frequently shop on Thursdays or Friday evenings, between 18:00-20:00. The store is busy, with atleast 5-6 customers per aisle. I usually try to pay cash because it allows me to control my spending more adequately. During my last 3 or 4 shopping experiences, Superstore has 1 single employee operated cash, with a considerably long line up consisting of atleast 10-11 people. Who wants to wait in line 20+ minutes? Not many people, clearly, therefor we are forced to use the self checkout. To add insult to injury, when you're done your self checkout experience and leave with your overpriced food, they have the AUDACITY to pay an employee (who could be operating a cash instead) to make attempts to check your receipt. This is EXTREMELY insulting. Want to check my receipt? Hire more cashiers to actually effectively check out your customers after they spend their hard earned money at your over priced store, maybe then you won't have to pay someone to check a receipt.

My wife and I enjoy this location. She is from Thailand and we found they have a great selection of international food, like sauces, rice, pastas. They have Mama noodles!

I enjoy the Superstore because of the large selection of produce available at that store. Price seems better than Sobey's. Superstore also has a great selection of bakery. Would give a 5 star but hate that there are few cashier's. A lot of shoppers dislike using self-serve.
