Filson

I am so impressed with the knowledgeable and custom-oriented staff at this awesome store. I came in with my wore out and faded bag asking for a replacement. When I heard how much one would cost, I started looking for lower priced alternatives. The guy who helped me (john maybe?) asked me a few odd (to me) questions and came up with the suggestion that I send it in for repairs and then apply wax to darken the material. A few weeks later and I had some great repairs to the fabric and after some work with the blow dryer at home, I had a solid looking bag again. Now I just need to come back for a new shoulder strap which I broke years ago.

I have been coming to Filson for years but I was away for 1.5 years and came back to Vancouver but found the service has changed quite worse.

Staff are friendly, knowledgeable about the products they sell in there. The clothing is ideal for the wet,cold weather B.C gets in the winter/ spring seasons.

Have been to Filson in Seattle and it was always a cool laid back shopping experience. In Vancouver they were constantly coming up to me and trying to sell me on their products. Just let me try on your stuff in peace, if I have questions I'll ask. The obnoxiously loud music performance in the back didn't help.

I'm surprised there are so few Filson locations if I'm honest. Their products are top shelf in quality and the service is always bangin'. They fit right into the Gastown vibe but I'd love to see them put stores in other areas because I just don't find myself in Gastown very often. I guess that's what helps to keep the items I get from them more on the exclusive side. I mean, it's not necessarily a bad thing that I'm the only one of my friends with my classic rugged chic 'look' haha. Still, I'd have more if they were located where I more often find myself. Come to 4th Ave Filson!

Fantastic experience at the store. I've been admiring Filson products for years but not wanting to order online for some weird reason. Finding a store in Vancouver while exploring the city was a perfect way to spend 1.5 hours trying many things on. Thanks Bernie for your patience and amazing service!I walked out with a hat for starters while contemplating the next piece. I spend a lot of time outdoors and in the few days since buying the hat it has gotten put through the paces with the standard Vancouver rain. My head has been warm and dry the entire time.Also, finding out they can host special events for me and my clients was a plus. They have a nifty little room in the back and solid products. Will definitely be returning to the store often, although not that often after a while as the products are built to last.

What happened to all your friendly, experienced employees?!! Shopping at Filson today was awful experience. First person that greeted us asked if it was our first time in Filson. While my husband was wearing a top and jacket from Filson. Hire people that know your merchandise!!! Then the male cashier was rude and abrupt with us. Went to pay for an item and he practically yelled at us to try it on first! Then wasn’t listening and I had to repeat my name for the receipt 4 times. Then when he had told me the final price, he mixed up the numbers it took him 3 tries to correct himself.I’ll be ordering online from now on! Not work the price of parking and dodging “homeless” people to shop at this store if this is how I’m treatedWhile my experience was a 1/5, after being contacted personally by the Store Manager Jamie. I have changed by rating. Jamie listened to my concerns and feedback and was genuinely apologetic as my experience was not on brand with Filson’s customer experience. I may now shop after confirming Jamie is on duty, but I’ll definitely be back!

Visited Vancouver and this store on march 20th. Thanks for convincing me to buy that jacket. Love it! And definitely a masterclass in customer service from their staff
