i bought brand new house in 2017 with Chinook furnace(i had no option to pick the furnace ),we had problem since first year,after complaining so many times to my builder they changed ever possible parts and still my thermostat showing check furnace and not working , they replaced the furnace in 2018 with same brand and same model and again same problem ,they sent the tech from Quebec to come look at it and of course he did some touch ups but still same problem ,of course supplier here in Saskatoon doesn't sell these furnaces anymore and they telling me 1 year warranty is passed and my view is this furnace didn't work right since day 1 ,so i have to buy furnace now because this is not working(think about it the furnace was replaced in 2018 needs to be replaced) ,interesting part is i have 2 neighbor with same problem(guess what same model and brand of furnace) ,lots of emails backward forward with builder,dettson and supplier in my city and everybody denied to help ,called manager in dettson last week and no call back so what the true story is these are not good furnaces ,should be reason they are not selling it anymore,i told them last year give me credit for furnace and take your furnace out of my house and i will buy the different one of course they didn't and i have no heat last 4 days in my house ,i wish i could post my emails here to every body see how many times this furnace quit ,there is the reason lennox,bryant,carrier,trane has good names and reputation ,be care full what you buy do lots of research and dont buy Chinook ,i am not happy customer with dettson

I have been a customer of Dettson for the past 17 years. They make amazing products. Along with keeping my family warm for many Canadian winters they have outstanding customer service. In particular John Suddably went beyond what I had expected and really came through to make things happen when needing recent customer service. Great company, great people!

Amazing customer support. They show a real desire to satisfy the end-user, not forcing you to interact only through their dealers.

Motor burned out after almost 2 years and they washed their hands of any responsibility even with their supposed 5 year guarantee.To bad that there is not a zero" grade option with this review."

As the President of a progressive home builder of Net Zero Homes in Ontario we have installed a number of the Dettson units and have been thrilled with their products and service thus far. Nice to see a manufacturer who is so invested in R and D.

Dettson appears to be shady at best. I was very interested thier chinook compact but all attempts to find any info including the price have failed. I even tried contacting them through thier facebook/massager but whoever is on the other end of that has refused to awnser any questions. I suggest using caution dealing with this company. Also like other negative reviews they will probably punt it down the road and say something like o yes we care and we are sorry please contact us by this email. Which will also go ignored as many of us have already tried that route.Edit 10/12/22Notice they responded as I predicted claiming I owed them an alternative contact info such as email. They apparently couldn't type awnsers in messenger or over the phone when I called? Also they never gave me thier VP of the corporation contact, so no I didn't reply to the one they gave me. What they gave me was a lower level person. And also notice they again exspect me to contact a different business entirely to awnser questions about thier own equipment. Pay close attention to thier reply and ask yourself do you want to rely on a company like that to keep you warm in the winter?

Very Poor customer service!! Local supplier does not stock any warranty replacement parts. If you install a Dettson furnace make sure you also install another backup heating system.

Spent most of summer 2021 without AC. Thermostat “Check system”…Had to call and a call again to get someone. Had to wait 1 MONTH for someone to show up, because only one guy can deal with this system was no avail…Tried to solve the problem, allegedly replaced all parts defective, left the place in a mess but as soon as the outside temp was over 25 Celsius, the system quits and stop functioning. No more reply from them; i was left alone to deal with it in the heat of summer.This winter, humidifier died, fixed it and died again. Spent the winter with a portable humidifier to try to keep humidity at a decent level.Fast forward to spring 2022; first days of real heat we had last week, no AC what so ever. 30 degrees in the house last week, is not working at all, dead in the water thermostat says “check system” s last summer.Altho its a recent system I’m now trying to find an HVAC guy to rip everything out and replace it by a reputable company product so I can be hot in the winter and cool in summer.Dettson. NEVER again.EDIT following Dettson reply;MISLEADING REPLY WITH Zero ownership as the person who came to try to fix IS a Dettson employee to the name of Eric Languille. Also a sales to the name of Yan Fradette came to try to fix, nobody else came other thsn DETTSON staff. So please do not pretend otherwise.

The best workplace i have ever had. The direction cares about their employees, no wonder they have employees that have been there for more than 30 years. I highly recommend working there.

After having repeated issues with the boiler we had purchased I reached out to Dettson's Customer service. After speaking with them they have made everything right through exceptional customer service and honoring the warranty they provide.
