Buta ramen
Decided to try ramen for the first time. I been putting it off for years as it just doesn’t wow me whenever I look at pictures of it or read about it. Since I live next door I decided to support local. The atmosphere was great, the service was splendid and the food was prepared in a flash. I got a Sapporo beer to wash it all down. The food was flavourful and extremely fresh. After trying ramen I can say I’m not a fan of the style of meal it is. It was nothing to do with this place as they seem extremely knowledgeable and serve up a great ramen but as I stated… not my thing. If you like ramen I suggest trying this place. For myself this was a one time experience.

Buta ramen
One of the best ramen restaurants I’ve been too, I got the spicy ground pork ramen with medium spice, the chicken karage and the matcha cheese cake with tea. Was amazing, spice level was perfect and the flavor was amazing. Will recommend to anyone who wants good ramen in Halifax!

A hidden gem right downtown!Pretty cozy space with not a lot of seating, so keep that in mind if you have a larger group attending.Their vegetarian ramen is delicious, so flavorful and loaded with toppings. They also offer a tasty korokke (croquette) if you're looking for a veggie appetizer. The tables each have some additional toppings as well if you want to kick it up a notch.I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of options for Japanese brews and liquors - their sake was smooth and tasty - nothing fancy, but just nice to have the option available on a cold day.Would recommend checking it out if you have an itch for ramen in the downtown core.

Came here hoping I could get some food similar to back home, it was nice but isn't the same taste (atleast for the tantanmen) so all in all it's a solid restaurant and semi fills your craving for japanese food.Prices are a bit high but nothing insanely high, keep in mind that if you like your food on the spicy side the provided chili oil probably won't be enough so ask for the food to be made spicy.Atmosphere is really nice and comfortable came here with a vegetarian friend who had quite a few options to pick from.

Buta ramen can provide you a decent lunch in downtown area.Parking is always a problem, the restaurant is tiny, a bit crowded while sitting. Service is good, quick to take the order and the food is quick to be served. The ramen is very tasty. Snack side dishes are yummy too. The dry garlic on the side is very good but the red pickle ginger is not as good as I expected.

Buta ramen
Nagasaki ramen, while filled with lots of stuff (some plain fried pork belly, some mussels, a couple shrimp, and lots of squid) didn’t have a very authentic ramen flavor. The tantan noodle was better flavoured but there was only a bite of meat. The fried squid legs were delicious.

Buta ramen
The soup of this ramen tastes good. For me, Nagasaki Jjamppong was big with mussels and shrimps and had a lot of squid in it. There's pork belly in it. You can choose the spicy level. Seafood was mostly fresh. The pork smelled a little and the meat was a little tough. Noodles are not chewy noodles. It's a side that breaks off easily. It's okay if you know and eat.

I really liked the staff were attentive and quick service was provided. Had great meal loved the ramen and sweet edamame beans. They have limited menu but still have gluten free options. Although I find it's bit pricy, I would still visit again.

First time dining at Buta Ramen, and first time ever having Ramen. I ordered the Nagasaki Champion, and my partner had the Tantanmen. To start we had the Chicken Karaage. All of it was amazing, so good! The atmosphere was cute and cozy. All of the staff members who served us were friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. The food came out lightening quick and it was busy! Will definitely be back again!

We came from Toronto and we have to admit it does taste very good for Ramen in Halifax. The only improvement point is the eggs - they are too close to hard boil.
