Widgeon Creek Campground
Too many people, river is pretty shallow in afternoon that requires getting out and pulling kayak over shallow sand banks. View is beautiful. No fish there in middle summer, at least nothing bigger than your finger if you planning to take a child fishing. Water is nice an clean but too cold for swimming. All in all a nice kayak trip but not the camping experience I was looking for. Here's the reason why:There are many many campers and they party all night long giving nobody any sleep. Two nights there, both was awful. I think they settled down around 3am. And here's the kicker! I almost fell asleep when the sound of fire crackers or fireworks was set off around 1am! And here I was trying to BBQ a marshmallow with my kids over a stupid gas burner due to the no fire laws. Having a marshmallow over gas burner is not my idea of camping. I'll go to the States next time to try and have somewhat of a real camping experience.

Very busy area. Plan to come very early and expect a steady flow of people crowding the campground beach.By 12:30pm the landing area was full of canoes and kayaks and probably passed another 20 on the way up while paddling out.Large black bear in area. Bring bear spray.

Excellent backcountry campground accessible via kayak / Canoe/ SUP from Grant Narrows boat launch on Pitt Lake. Bear lockers, 2 pit toilets, and a fair number (12?) of campsites along the shoreline and in the forest. As this is a backcountry site users will need a method to treat their own water from the creek for drinking as well as a camping stove. There are NO CAMPFIRES permitted in this area. The campground is heavily used by daytrippers between 10am and 6pm and a 45 minute hike from the campground leads to Widgeon Falls. During the early morning/ late evening Widgeon Creek is a truly special place. If you are going to visit ensure you follow the Leave No Trace" ethic and PACK IT IN PACK IT OUT!"

A beautiful, medium length paddle along a very quiet creek brings you to this popular camping and day tripping spot. There are no formal campsites, and not a lot of flat ground but it is very busy in the summer. You can hike up to the falls from this campsite, but water levels in both the creek and falls can get low in the summer.

Nice area accessible by kayak/ canoe/ paddleboard. The water was quite shallow at several points so I don't know if you could paddle in year-round. The tent platforms are handy to make sure you don't wake up in a puddle or muddy mess.Clean facilities and well maintained campsite. The bear proof food lockers are great.

A nice but small campsite. Been there a few times and always busy on weekends! Super popular for SUPs from Pitt Lake or leisure hikers to the water falls.

Its very clean, can only get to by paddle boats. I wouldn't take kids as there are Bears. Lockers provided for food, a must use. Bring mosquito repellant as huge horse flies that bite and mosquitos. It sits at end of slough that is infested with mosquitos. Its a cool place if you want somewhere to camp for free and a nice 40 min hike to magical falls and emerald green swim holes❗
