It's alright has a kids pool with small slide, as well as a larger pool for lane swimming and another with diving boards. The hours however aren't very user-friendly.

The pools pretty old but it's a great place to swim and they have the best diving boards in red deer. The staff is really friendly.

Very big place, bit of a maze lol

I was the roaming photographer for the 2022 Woody's Triathlon kids. Been photographing this event for many years. Sometimes we also photograph the adults event too. This aquatic.facility Is really nice. Very large walk in hot tub area and multi laned pool for laps etc. There is another area for some diving board action but I have never seen it used. Hopefully as the post covid world somewhat returns to normal, the viewing paths above the pool can also be used. See you next year.

Most people would do that the Collicutt is better but I say the Collicutt isn’t what I really want. I want a rectangle pool made for swimming lanes and doing laps around the pool. Their lane pool has the perfect blocks for swim club but too bad that they don’t let the public use them during public swim. I have swim club practice at the Michener and it’s so huge that we aren’t squishing 30 people into one lane. At smaller pools it’s very cramped. The dive tank is so deep and I love trying to touch the bottom and seeing other people try. In the dive tank and the lane pool there is these little windows and I won’t say much but some of them have a little surprise, not all of them but look in all of them, you might find something funny. The warm pool/hot tub at the Michener is not as warm as most hot tubs but it way bigger than most hot tubs and my whole swim club can fit in the Michener hot tub. It is so refreshing to get in there after a nice tiring swim. It is always a treat to go in the hot tub. I love this place and I would recommend it to everyone

Inconvenient hours and less than helpful staff. Since when is a family room not coed? Why is public swim hours only for a couple hours on 2 days a week?

Lifeguards were slow and walking during a medical emergency. Floors are extremely slippery. My daughter fell just by walking.

The facility itself is okay, though I do find the water here to have more chlorine than other pools. The dive tank is fun, and while I was initially disappointed at the lack of a hot tub, I was glad to see that they have a warm pool. The kid friendly warm pool is a great setup for my daughter.My reason for giving the place such a low rating, in spite of enjoying my time here, is as follows:I had taken a course here which required me to be at the pool early in the morning. The lockers take quarters instead of either tokens, or renting a padlock from the desk. When I went to the desk to get change, there was nobody there, and the gate was even pulled down! Not wanting to lose anything valuable, I had no choice but to bring my keys and wallet along with me.Unfortunately as it turned out, I was destined to lose something here. My class ran a little late, and after finishing up, I headed back to the change room as I had left my shoes in there. I saw they were gone. I thought Not a big deal

Shame about the policy here to bring age ism in and kick the seniors out,or at the very least making the activities difficult for the over 55 by moving them to another pool,why ? It's a public facility and there for should be available to ALL the public, over 55 lane swim Monday, Wednesday and Friday have been canceledAqua size on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons has been moved to the Mitchiner Center,for July and August ...why ?are seniors not allowed to relax in the sunshine of the outside pool once they have finished their activitiesI don't know of any buisness that wants you to take your buisness else where,people go to the Recreation center because it's convenient to where they live,most of the over 55 go there to socialize, some seniors don't see another person all day,we all learned during Covid how not socializing affects mental health,I don't approve of what is going on at the Recreation Center,or why this has been implemented as every time you ask you get a different answer, the last answer was its an experiment, an experiment !!!what on seniors? Why? What did the seniors ever do other than be regular paying customers every week come rain or shine.But it's not age ism right !! liar.

This is my favourite public pool ever. It's pretty quiet, super non stressful, very chill. The warm pool doubles as a kiddie pool but it's still deep enough to actually swim in, which is nice. The diving tank is awesome, i just always happen to have my LO with me. Life guards are nice people too.
