Someone needs to hold these facilities accountable. They post hours are clear till 6pm. Yet they close and lock gates earlier and are extremely rude about it. It was never like this in previous years.Either honour your hours of service or change the posted times.

It's a transfer station. You go, they weigh your vehicle, you throw things out, you pay. They do all those things well.

Always a pleasant experience when I go. Staff are friendly and always smile when chatting. They offer friendly advice and have even offered to help me unload as I’m vertically challenged, lol I’ve almost fallen in a couple times so they offer help if they can when they see me. I’m there once a week. Seems like it would be a friendly place to work.

Easy and handy recycling and waste centre. They also accept hazardous waste. You can also Pickup green bins if you order one from the City of Hamilton. The facility is large and easy to navigate in your vehicle. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. They also accept yard waste. They do charge a fee to drop off true waste and or garbage.

It's very convenient. I find it maintained to a very high standard. It's clean and tidy and it's a dump! That's impressive

My mother and I had a horrible experience at Dundas Transfer Station. Particular members of their staff were rude, and extremely crass. We got into an unfortunate minor accident at the dump site, where our car was hit by another gentlemen's car, which was backing up into the parking spots for dumping recyclables. Both cars involved suffered damages. Fortunately no one was hurt.We proceeded to gather information from the gentlemen who hit us. The process took a little longer because we have never been an an accident, so it was a little unfamiliar. To add to that, English is not my mother's first language; under stress, her comprehension slows. Two employees of the Transfer Station, who were managing the cardboard/steel section that morning were extremely hostile towards us. They were also on a first-name basis with the gentlemen who hit us. Essentially at this point, we had no viable witnesses - the people who could speak to the incident the most were clearly hostile towards us, and knew the other party. My mother felt uneasy about leaving the scene knowing that we had no one to verify our story, and in the case that the gentlemen decides to change his story, it would essentially be our word against his. To this end, we asked the gentlemen who hit us to give us something in writing. For some reason, the two employees decided to intervene and began giving the gentlemen instructions to not comply. The situation escalated to the point where one of the two employees told me to F*** off, and the other told my mom to get off the property. At this point, it's important to remember that the incident didn't even involve these employees! What right did they have to participate? Furthermore, what right did they have to talk and treat me and my mom that way?It was an extremely hostile situation, my mother and I felt bullied and disrespected. The language they used was extremely crass. Their attitude was extremely stand-offish. I called Waste Management Hamilton to file a compliant only to find that the Dundas Transfer Station is actually managed by the City of Hamilton. I was appalled to find that any city employee would behave in such as manner towards members of the community. To think, taxpayers are paying for this!Although I understand that employees charged with supervising dumping of recyclables do not typically handle customer service, I would advise the Dundas Transfer Station management to critically take a look the employees on its roster, as well as the image these employees are presenting to the community. There should be some kind of basic screening at the hiring stage to ensure that people of this calibre are not in a public service role, and at minimum, some kind of training happens. To be treated like we were is not okay.

They said I could dump construction waste. I thought it meant all wall building materials at least. I dumped old concrete-like wall plaster. Next time, because it was to cost more for a second load, I called to see if there was a special rate if I had a third and fourth load. But the city receptionist told me on the phone that they don't take construction waste. What the?
