We went for New Year's Eve dinner, and it was awful! The roast beef was supposed to be medium to medium rare but was extremely over cooked. It was so salty two of us found it almost inedible. The service was slow and inattentive. Make the experience even more unbelievable was that they had the gall to add a 17% tip to the bill!

We had a fantastic time! Our ferry out to Bar Harbor was cancelled and we had to stay an extra day, I've never been happier to be 'stuck' somewhere. Relaxing, beautiful, excellent food, family run, everything top quality. We hope to return!

Lovely clean place to stay. Nice property. Nothing to do in the vicinity though.Had the buffet, good mussels but they were not warm enough for my taste but thats probably because of the buffet set up, and I had really looked forward to the advertised lobster mac and cheese but I did not find much lobster in it.Staff were friendly. The room had a great view. A few suggestions to take it to a 5 star- Nicer bedding, comforter, would create an upgrade, Getting rid of the homely cot, and buying black out curtains as the light that comes in the window is beautiful but not at sunbreak. The towel rack should be hung on the opposite wall and not hanging over the toilet because it’s harder to reach and as well if anything drops, it can drop into the toilet, the shampoo and conditioner should be placed in a spot that’s easier to see as it took me quite some time to find them on top of that towel shelf, and this may seem strange but the wooden toilet seat is too small and not ergonomically functional for all parts of the anatomy so you might want to try to replace the toilet seat as I’m sure it’s more hygienic that way too .There was something plugged in behind the AC machine that made a whole lot of noise all night, perhaps the HEPA filter and maybe its only new since Covid but it woke me up a lot during the night and was really loud so I would advise taking it out if you don’t need it. I would’ve told the owners this but no one asked me how my stay was which I thought was unusual.Overall however I thought it was a very nice spot but I wouldn’t want to stay more than one night there.

Everything about our stay at the Lodge was perfect. The tranquility, the food, the sunsets, the staff....from the moment we arrived until the moment we left....Thank you so much for such an enjoyable 4 days. We will definately be back! Brian and Doreen Goodwin

Right on the water so the views were beautiful. This lodge was a nice overnight pit stop on our trip.

I moved to Argyle last year 2022 on June 30th. As I am a foodie, I water to try the restaurant before I came here, but didn’t have a chance until last night. The place has wonderful hosts and a short menu: which I liked. The food was good, but not exquisiteGreat food, fresh, but too salty. French fries were bad and extremely salty as well. The best part was the absolutely heavenly dessert. Never have I thought a touch of rose water and rhubarb would make a simple broiled vanilla custard so delectable. I ate in very fancy restaurants all my life. This custard is a 5 star point to the chef. The chef should also worry about the salt he adds to food: it would be better if the French fries would be thicker and with barely a dust of salt. Even the Caesar salad was too salty

Sometimes you find gems hidden in plain sight ... this is the case with the Argyler Lodge and Restaurant....Beautiful setting Beautiful service , Fantastic food....The shorts : If you haven't been there yet ...go worth the detour, worth the drive, worth going on purpose for the food...come for the food, stay for the view...The long :(secret at the end) if you are looking for a weekend getaway, just going for a drive or even for a romantic outing....this is the spot... it's away enough to be quiet but not so far off the beaten path you need a compass to find it...now what is it that makes that place special, would it be the view of the bay? the fantastic sunset, the quaint Inn...well yes that is part of it. .but that's the easy part ..the real secret is in the restaurant...and wow! Not only is the food tasty and flavorful but also that's where all the art is...It is..AUTHENTIC!!...meaning that it tastes like it should be : picked from the garden a few minutes before being served on your plate...or just fresh from the ocean not far away...everyone is always trying to re invent the wheel here finally is something real....real food served by people who care about not only the food but the overall experience...here you can have crunchy and tasty fishcakes, scrumptious desert...but above most do yourself a favor and ask forthe creamed lobster" !This dish alone is worth the trip

This stay was an absolute highlight of our trip. Not only is the food incredible and well worth the drive but the view and ambiance of the Argyler are straight out of a dream. The sunsets are unparalleled and it is so peaceful sitting out on the porch watching time pass. The fog rolled in at the end of sunset, completely blanketed the neighboring islands. We will definitely be back!

The Best meal we have had since we arrived in Maritimes!! Every dish was perfection!! Lobster like no other, haddock cooked perfectly. Can’t say enough about the great service and atmosphere. Had our dessert; fabulous espresso crème brûlée!! On the patio facing a beautiful sunset view but water. Got to hug the chef. A fabulous couple of owners and so friendly staff. Please make sure you go there if you can. Next time we will stay there also. Great accommodation there too! Bravo!!
