The restaurant is well decorated and comfortable. For the food, we ordered a few different steaks and all of them are really good. It's definitely one of the best in Calgary that I have ever tried.

CattleBaron Steakhouse NW - Royal Oak
Great experience with two little ones under 3. Our server was personable, knowledgable and the food was great. For a steak I would suggest the ribeye over prime rib but both were good. Highly recommend twice baked potato as a side. The vegetables weren’t overbearing. For appetisers I’d highly suggest beef carpaccio. It’s good for sharing between two.

This was the first visit to this Cattle Baron location and my first visit to a Cattle Baron in a few years. I use to consider this a step above the Keg, but I unfortunately the food wasnt great. With the Holiday season, I've had the opportunity to dine at other steak restaurants in the City (i.e. Saltlik, Modern Steak, Major Toms and Keg), and the quality of the steak I had at Cattle Baron was not up to the others. The Cowbow Rib (medium rare) was a bit tough, when brought out was close to a medium. Others in our group had the Prime Rib and Filets and said they were ok. One member had the rack of lamb. The cuts were ok, but lacked flavor. The desserts and appetizers were pretty good. The service was excellent.

First time going for Dinner here. It was expensive but very good, and I left Full!! I hate places that are expensive with tiny little portions! The waitress was very friendly and came around often to check on us. A very nice treat for a night out. I forgot to take oils of the appetizers and the dessert lol my bad.

My husband and I just ate here last week as a way to enjoy the Oilers game! Fantastic service. The servers and greeting staff were smiling, positive, welcoming, personable. We both were really impressed with the staff working the evening of April 21st!Food was great too. Steaks were done perfectly. We left feeling very satisfied!

We drive by this place regularly and finally decided to try it.. hoping we would find a good steak nearby (spoiler alert, we didn't find it).My wife had the Seared Ahi Tuna which is crusted in peppers and served with wasabi soy sauce which she enjoyed.I had the 6oz Filet Mignon (ordered medium) with french fries. The filet was a good piece of meat but very well done! When I pointed it out to our waitress, she sent out the manager. He looked at the steak (picture of middle of steak in picture) and said it was more like medium well". He offered to cook up a new steak which I declined as we were trying to get out of there pretty quickly and my wife was already half way done with her meal.After dinner

Had a good business lunch here. The decor was nice and clean and service was friendly and quick. Easy atmosphere and ambiance. My burger was cooked perfectly and was satisfying and kept me full all day. Only downside were the fries were not on par with the rest of the food.

Bland, expensive, with pub atmosphere. We went for our Anniversary. Made it clear in our reservation this was to celebrate our anniversary. My husband and I were seated next to a large table with 3 young kids that were screaming and running around the table - not a romantic atmosphere at all. Our French onion soup was super salty. We both ordered steak, mine was over cooked, the carrots & broccoli were not seasoned, essentially nothing more than steamed, and the potato was bland. Even the water was Luke warm! Everything about this experience was disappointing. If you want a romantic dinner out, go to The Keg in Crowfoot, it has never disappointed!

Great portion sizes, drinks were excellent. Must try smoked old fashioned & dry ribs :) First time here, celebrating a birthday with family, will return again.

Absolutely delicious! We had the best time here tonight!! We decided to take a chance and visit a new steakhouse and we were NOT disappointed. The dry ribs are to die for and the steak was cooked perfectly. We will be back and reccamending you to everyone!!! Thank you for the beautiful night and great service!
