Jerk chicken is extremely bland, not spicy and no char. The rice and peas is just bland over cooked rice with no peas…no plantain. I wouldn’t say it’s terrible but but boring and far from amazing.

This place no matter what time u go will be a whole vibe but at night!! The lights make getting a food truck meal a whole new fun experience 100% worth it!

Probably one of the best Carribean places I've been to. The selection is great. Same great taste from kanata. Location is close to Home depot and in the parking lot of a church. They have an upstairs AC area for eating and multiple exterior areas. The owners are great people and very polite.

Can't get a newer hidden gem than Nu Caribbean food truck. Owners Neil and Chef Sean have only been open a few weeks serving up some delicious Caribbean food. They will be located during food truck season in the parking lot of Calvary Church on Cyrville rd. You might recognize the truck, it was the original double decker bus we saw during festivals and I believe in Orleans also. The owner has decided to go into the rental business and now the trucks new occupant is Nu Caribbean. I got the caribbean fried chicken, with rice and peas, the chicken had a crunchy outside and a juicy on the inside. I also got a curry chicken roti which was not overly spicy and the roti was soft and chewy! And there was no way I could leave without grabbing a few jamaican patties. Neil said they get them freshly made from Toronto, and we loved the flaky pastry and the flavours on the inside were delicious. We were very happy with our meals and the flavours did not disappoint, Neil event gave us some oxtail gravy on the side to try with the fried chicken, where has this been all my life!! This food truck is a must try, run don't walk!! #supportlocal #ottawafoodiestalker #ottawafoodtruckstalker

We've been trying to find a good roti spot in Ottawa for the last year, and Nu Caribbean definitely hit it out of the park. The size was perfect, taste was amazing and the shell was exactly as it should be. To top it off, we've ordered rotis from other places where we've paid $20+ for a smaller and a not as good roti - but Nu Caribbean's price ($16) for the quality and size of the food just topped it all off. This is going to be our new go-to roti spot. 10/10 recommend!

Decided to stop here on a whim to grab lunch and got the oxtail and curry goat with a beef patty. The oxtail and curry goat were both very flavourful and incredibly tender. They dabbed some of their homemade hot sauce onto the goat - it added a nice mild kick to the dish. The plantains were perfectly ripe and the rice & peas were cooked well. This spot is dog-friendly too so we were able to eat with our puppy. I'll definitely be back to try their other offerings!

This may be the worst Caribbean food in the city. First of all they got the order wrong I ordered 1lb each of Jerk Chicken, Oxtail, and BBQ jerk chicken and probably received half of the food because they decided to send a 2 meat combo instead of what I ordered. The food is flavourless across the board. Rice and peas was mushy and bland. Jerk chicken was old and weak, as if it sat under a heatlamp for 3 hours. BBQ Jerk chicken was the same with some kind of sauce on it. Beef patties are store bought - really the only good thing about the meal; it actually had some flavour even though they came soggy. And what kind of Carribean restaurant doesn't have plantains as a side order?Do not recommend. Go to Ocho Rios or Run2Patty instead.

Huge quantities. Awesome staff. They sound like they really know the food. They have a homemade spice sauce that is awesome. The seating is quite limited. Just two or three tables. Only tiny complaint is that the chicken seemed to have been cooked earlier in the day and had maybe dried out a bit before it was served. Otherwise everything was delicious. I would love to try the food straight off the stove (or oven or wherever). Oh I also tried their homemade ginger root drink. Wow. It’s potent stuff. Only get it if you like ginger and aren’t afraid of some heat. I loved it. I bet not everyone would though. Try it out!

Dinner tonight at Nu Caribbean on Cyrville.I ordered the Ox Tail dinner that came with beans and rice, cole slaw in a citrus dressing, which was lovely and fresh, and plantains perfectly fried. To drink I tried for the first time Ting, which is a Grapefruit carbonated drink which was lovely. The food was just GREAT. Loved it!If you haven’t tried NU Caribbean, it’s a must. There’s something for everyone. Portion size is good. Service was friendly and courteous. I will be back again and again. The picture is of my half eaten dinner as I forgot to take it before I started to eat.
