Great soup! Nicely balanced and delicious overall. Only wish the portion size is larger.

Love this cafe! They have a really great pumpkin spice latte in the fall. I also love their tamarind cold brew. Staff is always welcoming and the coffee is always very good!

Came here while exploring this cute part of town. I read that Cafe Odessa has a great selection of non dairy options so I came to try a coconut milk cappucino. The woman behind the counter was very kind and once she made my cap she realised she'd accidentally used milk. She immediately offered to remake it and though I told her it was ok and that I could just have what she made, she insisted and remade my drink. (I'm not allergic to cow milk, I just quite like coconut.) It was nice that she wanted to make sure I had the experience I'm was looking for, I appreciated that. She even let me try the milk cap just for comparison at my request :D The cafe itself is small, very cute, a wee bit grungy but in a good way. I love it. You feel comfortable there and positive. They have a fantastic selection of coffee gear, Hario kettles, ceramic drippers, Chemix's, good coffee beans. (Pilot coffee, direct traded.)

Basic cafe with specialty coffee selection. Limited milk options from regular to soy and oat milks. Espresso and pour over hot available. Limited seating inside and mostly a take out place. Coffee is smooth but on the higher acidity side of spectrum but still smooth.

Spent the whole day at Jean Talon Market, wanted to grab a cup at the market..Since it's Sunday it was quite busy (obviously), no free spot found.. so i decided to stroll through little Italy (glad it was so crowded) & search for another place and i found this one.Great coffee, fine tunes beeing played (mix of 60s, surf, blues etc..)Nice, modern small cafe' with simply stylish interior..Friendly staff and little bench in front to enjoy the sun while zippin.Non dairy options: soy, coconut & almond milkI'd be coming back for sure :-)

The coffee was solid, but unremarkable. However, my experience with the service was a bit off putting and I probably won't be back. Specifically, when I got to the front of the line the barista said that I had cut and asked me to go to the back of the line so she could serve the people behind me. The line situation is a bit confusing since people seem to wait in the ordering line while seated but I am sure the people she was referring to came in after me. I felt publicly scolded for something I didn't do and it wasn't a nice experience.

The good: friendly baristas, good atmosphere and the coffee is inoffensive. The bad: service can be slow and the coffee is a little on the weak side, both due to a weighting process. Whether this is to achieve a specific flavour balance, or a cost saving measure, the result is the aforementioned. That said, they are still the best of the 3 cafes in that immediate area.

Good coffee and decent service, although for some reason you can't sit inside? Even with the benches being there? I wa very confused when I was minding my own business and the barista came over and asked me to leave? I wasn't even talking or Being loud. They simply said this is not a sitting area, it's a waiting area and pointed towards the door.

I have a rule of thumb: The more stuff a coffee house has on its menu, the less likely the coffee will be good.Well, I didn't even see a menu at Odessa - which I took to be a positive sign!I ordered a cappuccino because that's a great drink for seeing what a barista is all about. The temperature was definitely in the right range, had a nice microfoam and featured a nice splash of latte art.I also grabbed a cookie, which appeared to have oats and M&Ms in it. I don't usually have a cookie with a cappuccino, but it looked too good to pass up (and it tasted as good as it looked). It's really easy to walk right past Odessa. The atmosphere won't impress anyone. But if you want a well-made espresso drink, put Odessa on your list. If I lived in Montreal, I'd visit often.
