Mile End Community Mission
Mile End Mission provides meals and groceries to people in need. People who need groceries can buy a ticket Friday mornings for 50 cents, and then come back in the afternoon to pick up their food. I try to donate $$ at least once a year. It is sponsored by the Anglican diocese; religion is offered but not pushed. It's also a good place to donate gently used clothing, housewares, books, etc for their bazaars.
