Big Heart Canine

I highly recommend Big Heart Canine for any and all training needs. They sincerely exceeded all of our expectations. We sent our two dogs because they were having some issues with fighting and being territorial towards each other, both of our dogs would take off out of our yard and end up at our neighbours house or off chasing squirrels. We brought one of our dogs home tonight, with the other coming home next week and we are amazed. He was able to hold place the entire time we ate dinner, he almost took off chasing down the street after a kid and because he did the recall program he turned around and IMMEDIATELY and came to me instead when we called him. Two weeks ago I would have had to chase him down the street and apologize profusely to the people. He’s so obedient!!! We are honestly blown away and so happy. Aleka is fantastic, always sending updates when she can, and answering any and all questions that we had along the way. She really makes it feel like she cares not only for your dog but she cares that the owners understand the information fully & has a very evident love for what she does & knows her stuff - im convinced there are no issues she can’t solve . We’re so grateful & are lifelong customers for sure. Thanks to all of the staff at big heart canine - my house feels like it’s back in order :)

We have worked with Aleka for over a year. She worked with our two pups since they were 6 months old. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about her animals. I highly recommend this outstanding facility to anyone who really cares about their dog’s mental, physical and social wellness. I brought my dog here for help and support in getting more confidence, structure and training off leash. I cannot describe what a different dog I have today. Full of confidence and extremely obedient behaviour while you walking and with other dogs. Not only is my pup enjoying a better time on our walks and outings but I have also learned how to have less anxiety around him being off leash. I could not be happier and have recommended Big Heart to all my family and friends who have also had similar experiences here! I know when I leave my 3 pups here they are in a structured loving and caring environment. Love this place and I will never go anywhere else!

Ralph is a rescue from Belize. He struggled with his confidence, especially around intact males. He also had a strong prey drive Working with Aleka I have noticed huge improvements in him! He is Becoming a whole new dog. He’s always so happy and excited to go spend a night or two at the barn, and so happy and tired when he comes home. I couldn’t ask for a better option to board my dog! We had our dog Sasuke here for a week while we were away and we couldn't be happier. We were hopeless after we had a terrible experience with another kennel and we almost cancelled our trip. We have a Shepherd with some behavioral issues. She's a sweetheart but has an exceptional amount of anxiety, fear and other issues. I reached out to Big Heart Canine and Aleka took her in and was AMAZING with our pup. Aleka is highly knowledgeable with dogs mental and emotional state. This is what makes her the best trainer! She took such good care of my German Shepherd who is usually reactive when meeting new people. Aleka immediately gained her trust and help me learn how to manage her behaviour better. I highly recommend this facility.

Big Heart K9 has helped train and board my dogs for several years. From day 1 she put us on a training routine for home, from hand feeding, placement training, to keeping my dogs from pulling on the leash, she can do it all, it made a huge difference in my dog Vaders confidence and helped establish a hierarchy at home. He's crate trained, doesn't pull anymore, he won't eat until I've given him the command to do so. She's boarded them when we've had to go away for holidays. Can't recommend them enough.

The team at Big Heart Canine do a phenomenal job. Any boarding or training place can tire your dog out for you, that’s pretty easy and doesn’t give lasting results, or give the dog meaningful learning.But this facility goes above and beyond to be responsive to your dog, and support the whole dog so that they are happy and BALANCED. My dog was already off-leash obedience trained prior to his multiple visits here, but he always comes back just a little bit better than when I sent him. Because we have already put the investment of time and money into our dog’s training, I DO NOT want to take him to *just any* facility where his training can possibly regress. I do not want to have to fix any training backslides. I am very certain that if I took my dog to a “regular” kennel facility for services, he would be allowed to get away with some minor behaviors that I wouldn’t want, or tolerate myself. This does not happen at BHC, in fact the opposite is true.. My already trained dog always comes home just a little bit better, and always very relaxed. 100% can recommend that if you are nervous to leave a trained dog at a facility - this is the facility you want to leave your dog at.Aleka and her team take pride in their work, and the results of their work shine through in my dog’s mental balance. A happy/balanced dog is a more cooperative teammate and family member, so I am very appreciative for what BHC does!
