This place is more of a homeless shelter than a detox center. They say it’s a non medical site which makes sense but there wasn’t a councilor or social worker on site.I was admitted on a Thursday night after an emergency visit at Micheal Garron (abt 9pm). I was given an anti seizure medicine prescription, and was told to go to the shoppers across the street to fill my prescription. ( right beside the wine store)There after I took my meds and spent almost the full day they discharged because I took my meds without supervision".The older Caucasian male with glasses ranted to me about how "what if I have a seizure we need to keep an eye on you" Meanwhile I was listening to them rant to each other about bitcoin at 3 am. No one told me i was supposed to give them my prescription.By the way have fun with a boiled egg and slice of bread for breakfast....This place should be shut down and turned into a shelter. NOT A DETOX CENTERDISGUSTING Don't be fooled by fake reviews"

16 Ossington men's detox, is the best kept secret in addiction & withdraw/crisis...During the covid-19 pandemic the facility was a beacon of hope and stability for myself as well as others that needed help, cant stress the appreciation and thankfulness for these front-line workers.. Anna,Victor,Hannah, Less & all the front-line staff that kept this Oasis operational and safe, in these unprecedented times!!! 5*****

This detox changed hands from UHN to St. Michael's Hospital in May of 2022. This included a complete change of staff and programming. The reviews from before that change over were accurate for the time. I can't speak to the state of it now, but I hope people don't feel deceived by the good reviews; they reflect the care and amazing work of the staff from UHN for the many years leading up to the change over.

I was hopeless and depressed. I was already a man on the ledge. This place saved me. Saved me from insanity and, or death. So grateful for the chance they gave me to relook at my life. I came out of this place more focused and more equipped with the necessary tools to deal with my addiction and substance abuse. The staff was so cooperative and so was fellow clients who became more like a family to me. I can't thank Ossington Men's Withdrawal center enough...Happy to have had this lifetime opportunity

Best Detox facility in Toronto. And all of Ontario for that matter. The staff here really care. Thank you for saving my life. I was blown away by the kindness and professionalism of the staff here. The food was good and the portions were huge. They help me out so much when I had no one else, and nowhere else to go. They extended my stay and let me stay 2 weeks until I was able to get into a treatment center. The support from the counselors was no other detox. They showed me that I was worth saving, they help me to regain confidence in myself. Thank you Ossington detox. I hope you are always around to help men who want to change their lifestyles. Hello, I'm Steven and I was suffering from a very intense addiction and mental instabilities during the addiction. I was making some direct inquiries to see how I could help this place or give back something for everything they have given me but unfortunately, the best I can do is write a review. Please heed my words as ACTUAL LIFE DEPENDS ON IT. It was brought to my attention that this facility may be shut down. Politics is beyond my reach of knowledge but whatever the reason may be, it is a devastating plan of action. By God's grace when I was researching places to go to be saved from my addiction I found Ossington Detox. I will always have shame for the involvement with drugs in my life and any ties to it, quite frankly it's almost impossible to get through it before you expire mortally or mentally. It's because of this place and the staff that work there I was able to have my life back. I can understand where bias may come in and all the other factors that may bring disagreement with my words. However, I have attended almost every detox the city has to offer, nothing compared to this place. The only downfall of this place is the aesthetics but that should only give the place more merit especially to the staff that endures this issue. Every single staff of this place EVERYONE, I had a connection with. The dynamic and chemistry of this place are nothing less than life-saving. My entire family is fully aware of this place for what it's done for me. They made such an impression on my wife and my mother whom some personally met. When they need to show love and support it's there. When they need to be stern to provoke your inner willpower it's there. When you need to talk to the doctor or nurse, they hear you and guide you the best way. These aren't general statements these are facts and I can elaborate on different situations to prove it. I'm a proud man and father today and it started with this detox. I know I mentioned this already but the staff that has dedicated years of their time in this place has paid off. The coincidence is almost godly. What I mean by this is that the way the staff interacts has created somewhat of chemistry and has such an effect on the clients positively. The thought of the higher-ups potentially closing this down just know... JUST KNOW you are making the biggest mistake in the detox world. If I had an opportunity to start a petition or anything of that sort to protest against this I would. I'm asking God first and the medical industry second to not close this place down. Do not make any changes with integrations or whatever you may have planned. You know the saying, don't you? If it's not broken, don't fix it! I want to thank the staff with all my heart for their dedication and hard work. I want to thank you again for putting your lives on the line during this pandemic and adapting to keep this place open during this bitter era. From the bottom and top and inside my heart, thank you for guiding me back to life. I will never forget and always remember you guys. I had such a pleasant time with you guys and so fulfilling with wisdom and knowledge I could go back sober just to be around your positivity! Any decisions that should be made on this place are the ones who work there for time and time. They are the ones who know and a client/patient like myself. It's beyond me how decisions can formulate from higher-ups and are blind to the potential negative impact it might have. I had a more rehabilitating experience here than some official rehab locations. Ossington Detox doesn't just manage withdrawal they save lives, to put it bluntly. I don't mean to be offensive in any way but the other 5 or 7 detoxes in the GTA do not and will never compare to the chemistry and dynamic Ossington Detox has. I stand beside you Ossington, thank-you for your hard work and dedication! You can see the difference between someone who comes into work to save lives and the ones who come in for a paycheque.
