H&R Block

I have been doing my taxes with Hany Soliman in this location for past 3 years ( after my long term accountant got sloppy) and all i can say is AMAZING ! This men is professional, knowledgeable and very pleasent to deal with and since, i sleep well as i do not worry about how my taxes are done. Highly recommended !

My husband and I went in on Monday, March 13th, around 6 p.m., for an appointment to file our taxes. The lady who was assigned to help us was very nice and friendly.The main issue we had was with the woman who was in the front of the office taking calls (she later claimed she was the manager).We had some issues with accessing my husband's account through CRA and was asked to call them and go back to the waiting area.So my husband calls and begins to try to contact the CRA.We were minding our own business sitting on hold with the CRA when the woman in the front starts harassing us, asking my husband, who again was on the phone, about his citizenship, his status and if he had proff of any of that.I told her he had all the papers, and if the lady helping us wanted to see them, we would show her. But she kept it up, basically demanding my husband show her them personally, saying it was the law and that she will kick us out if we refuse (which we weren't) she was demanding to see immigration papers and talking loudy to other employees about us (when she went to the back to I guess check what the woman who had helped us filed?) She was saying loudy to her colleague that it was law that we show her and that they don't do under the table illegal stuff for anyone.At this point, my husband was incredibly embarrassed, being racially discriminated against for no reason and we couldn't get ahold of the CRA - who later told us she had no right to ask my husband for anything that she was demanding for except for his T4 and ID which he had given them anyway - so we were asked to come back the next day and we did, to pull our file from the branch ( she had some choice words when she learned we wanted to take our stuff back but thats not necessarily important)We filed a complaint later on in the week.Avoid this location.

After doing my own taxes for years I was gently nudged by my husband to come with him to see Sue at this location. I was not only completely blown away by this woman, I was entertained by her. Sue is efficient, accommodating and professional. I will be back and will recommend her in a heartbeat.

I’d give this place zero stars if it were possible. Sursati (Sue) has an extremely unprofessional attitude that makes her very difficult to deal with. My sister needed an adjustment after Sue refused to do her entire taxes with the information she was given. After a couple arguments back and fourth Sue reluctantly agreed to do an adjustment with the information she had all along but it would of course cost money for the adjustment. It’s been over a week and apparently she hasn’t had the time so my sister made an appointment. The appointment was cancelled by Sue and when my sister called Sue was rude, argumentative and then hung up on her. If this was our first year with H&R block it would certainly be our last, we will choose a different location in the future and I recommend you do the same.

My Husband and I have been going to H&R block for 4 years, and this year convinced us to try somewhere else next year.I had made an online appt a week in advance, i was called 3 days before my appt by a very confused woman who advised me that she needed my appt to be at 5pm, not 6pm. I let her know that i work until 5pm in Cambridge - so 6pm, my original appt that i booked, will have to do.Then i got a text message saying they cancelled my 6pm appt. So i called to clear it up and they had no idea what i was talking about.I then called the day before our appt to verify the appt because i was let so uneasy by the two people i was speaking with three days before the appt. The lady on the phone told me that my 6pm is still good.So now fast forward to our actual appt day. we arrive at 5:55pm with our 5 year old in tow. To be told to sit while she lets two young men in to do their taxes.. they finally sat us down with her at 6:25. WHY WOULD I MAKE AN ONLINE APPT IF YOU ARE GOING TO DOUBLE BOOK ME?! I was so beyond unimpressed, i complained to the counter staff letting them know that i was upset with my service thus far. I was told she would be 5 min, 20 min later is when we sat down with her.During the meeting, she was short with us and obviously very sick. She coughed all over the place the entire meeting, claiming it was because the air in the building was dry. I am 5.5 months pregnant and do not wish to be coughed all over.Once our taxes were done and the totals were read, i didn't understand why the total returns were so different from last year, and asked her to double check her work and explain to me why they were so different - her response was I put the numbers in

I just recently did my taxes with Iwona. She is an absolute brilliant and knowledgeable tax specialist. I would recommend her in a heartbeat. Don’t even hesitate to book with her. Friendly and personable. Answered all my questions. 10/10

Worst experience ever!If you’re claiming childcare costs, avoid this location.I booked an appointment with Sue.Everything seemed fine until I gave my childcare receipts, Sue would not accept them and said they weren’t proper receipts. She told me she would file my taxes and just make a quick adjustment when I had an actual receipt. She told me I wouldn’t require an appointment as it was a simple adjustment that would take a minute and to contact her when I had the receipt.I obtained a complete breakdown of my childcare. The rate I paid, my sons attendance and all information of my childcare placement. I called Sue and she told me just to drop in as she had some time that day so I did. When I arrived and handed her the new documents she said “What do you want me to do with that? That’s nothing” she then proceeded to tell me that the initial receipts I brought in the first time is what she needed for the adjustment. I tried explaining what I had brought in but she had no interest in hearing me out and told me just to leave it with her.A week later I didn’t have an update so I figured I would just book an appointment so we could sit down, talk and make sense of whatever the issue was. I booked it on the Sunday for the Wednesday coming. I got an email and a text message Tuesday night confirming my cancelled appointment. I was pretty frustrated at this point so I called Sue.Sue was rude, she refused to see me, didn’t want to discuss the matter on hand and then told me that she is the only one that could do my adjustment because she’s the one that filed my taxes and I quote “if you’re expecting more money from us, you’ll have to wait. These things can take one to two months”I knew these things take time and wasn’t expecting to walk out with money, I just felt like it was put on the back burner and not a priority. The conversation was less than two minutes and ending in her hanging up on me.I called back and spoke to another lady and requested my information back. I was in fact allowed to pick up my stuff and take it where I saw fit. I did not want to deal with Sue anymore. I understand tax season can be stressful but there is a way to go about things and I don’t think this was handled in a professional manner.I got everything worked out at another H&R block location and am just happy it’s all situated now.

Hany provided my family with outstanding tax return services. Hany was very professional, diligent, kind and generous with his time and attention. He is quick and helpful with getting my questions answered every time. He has been doing my taxes for years now and at every experience I’ve had with him has been fantastic.
