Larosa Gardens

When we got Mum moved in, without exception the staff were kind and welcoming. After only two days at La Rosa, my Mum was speaking to her sister, who said, “It’ll take a while to settle in.” Mum, not skipping a beat, said, “Oh, I don’t think so. It’s fabulous here!”Update: I must add a voluminous thank-you to all of La Rosa’s staff, and in particular the meal servers, who cared for residents during the power outages in December 2019. My mother was blissfully unaware of the damage caused by the latest storm. When we told her about it, she said she would have been afraid in her home—which would have been cold, dark and without hot food or running water. In contrast, she was warm and had hot food brought right to her. My mother has spent her life giving to her family; she deserves to be cared for in her last years. I cannot express in words the immense gratitude I have for La Rosa’s staff for continuing to provide that care under the difficult circumstances of an extended power outage.Update: My Mum is knitting again! After several years of arthritis limiting the movement in her hands, Mum wants her needles and wool stash. WOW! Is it because of regular, healthy meals? A continuously warm environment (no turning off the heat because it's expensive), exercises supported by Home Care, all of the above? Who cares! She is knitting again! Thank you, La Rosa!

I have visited La Rosa Gardens for many years. Every time I do, the residents and staff make me feel welcome. There is always something going on and everyone is happy and engaged. The staff take good care of the resident's needs and make sure the place is well kept and attractive (inside and out). The location is quiet and Ladysmith is a wonderful community. I would certainly recommend La Rosa Gardens - it has great accommodation and all the support and amenities you will need.

La Rosa Gardens is a fabulous facility with the most amazing staff who truly love their jobs; it shows in their glowing smiles and the way they treat the residents. My Mom spent 7 1/2 years at La Rosa and it was wonderful. They provide three great meals a day, afternoon tea with baked goods and fresh fruit, and a variety of activities and entertainment for the residents. Even though my Mom passed away, I continue to visit the residents and staff as they are like family to me. Thank you Dawn, Jen and all the staff at La Rosa Gardens.

My parents lived at La Rosa Gardens for more than 5 years and absolutely loved it. La Rosa has a homey feeling, with cheerful and caring staff members. There are daily activities which bring people together and add joy to their lives. Thank you, La Rosa staff, for all your kindness.

When your parents are ready for assisted living, it's hard to know where to go. We highly recommend LaRosa. Mom and Dad moved in and immediately felt like part of a family. Everyone is happy. Dad passed away and Mom was looked after well as a single person for the first time in her 87 years. She always felt safe and cared for. Now Mom has moved to long term care, and we're having to adapt to a new facility, we fully understand the gem we had at LaRosa Gardens.

It was nice to visit La Rosa Gardens , beautiful grounds, attention from stuff like Emma and warm atmosphere makes this place great for independent living.

When Mom needed care, I looked at several assisted living facilities but none felt right. And then I visited LaRosa. Finding LaRosa was like finding a treasure. I was immediately impressed by the gardens and exterior look of the building. Inside and out, it has a grand appearance with a lovely common area and charming dining room. Everyone on staff was friendly, caring, kind and compassionate.Mom was there for over a year and I cannot say enough about LaRosa and the people there. I was so happy to have found such a lovely place with such wonderful people. I am grateful for the love and kindness shown her. I highly recommend LaRosa.

My mom has been living at La Rosa for almost 1 1/2 years now. From the first visit, there was a feeling of caring and friendliness from the residents and staff. The residents raved about the meals and they all said they loved living there. The staff called the residents by name and showed a lot of respect for each other. It's the little things that matter as well, like helping hang a picture or fixing a closet door, to spending time chatting about life. Providing a hair salon, out going mail box for posting letters, travel to medical appointments and to have assistance with showers by VIHA is so very convenient to the residents who may have mobility issues. You have the privacy of your own home and the option to join in with activities scheduled throughout the months. Very beautiful setting as well. Cost of living is very affordable.
