Chef Chan

Called in to order the lunch special, one for myself and one for my wife she wanted the sweet-and-sour chicken balls with NO sweet and sour sauce (Wife is a diabetic) order put in with David, got home and the sauce was all over her dinner! Called and they expected me to come back (in Holly area) she ate what she could and of that it was fantastic food, just wish David would listen and do as the customer asked! , we will try again as long as it's not David taking our order ☆ Update , was back the other day, and it was what we wanted and tasted great

I first tried Chef Chan when I lived in Markham nearly 20 years ago. It was pretty good then so I figured I would give them a call in Barrie many many years later.Ordered dinner for 4 (B). The food was great.Rice was good and fresh with really big chunks of chicken.Spicy beef was delicious, sauce tasted great. Only gripe was the size of the veggies (large) but that's not enough to not enjoy the dish. Really good.Chow Mein was ok, I enjoyed the vegetables very much. I found the chicken and noodles to lack flavour. All in all it's a decent dish but also the least liked dish among the bunch. If ordering again in the future I think I would ask that this dish be vegetarian as the veggies were really good imo.Chicken balls were very good and portion was enormous. Large side of sweet/sour sauce was also included. Very yum.Deep fried shrimps were my favourite. Would have devoured them all if I wasn't so full from eating a bit of everything else. Very large portions on this.Egg rolls were ok, not great but still tasty and a good addition to the feast..All in all I say it was a great meal for about $60 after delivery tip and the portions large enough to feed a small army. Recommend.Honestly some of the best Canadian Chinese take away you could ask for these days.I recommend.

I always bought Chef Chan best chines ive had i now live 2 hr drive away but when ever i go to town i get my order. They have real good lots of chicken chicken balls. I tried some 2 times in lindsay from supposed to be best place. Hit and missI so am craving chef chan cant wait to go to town see you soon.Well i have gone and done it nowNow i live way way up northWill have to go visit family and get some Chef Chan and get extra and put into my cooler to bring home. If i dont eat it before it gets here

First-time customer tried diner special General Tso's Chicken. Great and generous portion size, the takeout box was heavy. Didn't like food too much, but they really tried,with great customer service and generous portion.

Ordered the dinner special for $9.95 paid the delivery fee of six dollars and I tip the driver five dollars . I had chicken, fried rice, sweet-and-sour, chicken balls, and an egg roll. The fried rice I received was the darkest colour of rice and chunks of chicken thrown in with no taste at all, I did not receive an eggroll, but one spring roll which I did not eat. The chicken ball coating was so hard the fork would not go into it. I was not impressed with the meal at all.

Got the Chicken chop Suey lunch special. Fresh and amazing taste for a very reasonable price. The staff are helpful & friendly. I will try Cantonese Chow Mein next.

Chef Chan used to be good serving allfresh made but now are using disgusting frozen product and overcharging for it. They are nolonger willing to serve the food they used to. Their bottom line is more important than satisfying customers.

Normally you get either quality food or a large amount of food. You don't get both. With Chef chan you get both and I mean a HUGE serving ... the food is quality. You can tell everything is cooked separately which is not always the case with Chinese Food. Vegetables were crispy noodles done perfectly, shrimp was good. This is now our go to place for Chinese...we have been looking since our normal place closed down 6 month ago and couldn't find anywhere that was even reasonably good. Chef chan is even better than our old Chinese food restaurant go to...They told us up to 1hour n 15 minutes and the food was on our table 40 minutes later. Pleasant ordering and delivery expereince i have nothing critical to say here. ..I 100% recommend this place

The lack of flavour perhaps serves the geography and demographics but it's a shame locals' taste could not have been educated/elevated.

Worst dinner ever. Dry chicken, rice under cooked, We will not be ordering again. What happened to this place?
