COVID-19 Assessment Centre

Although I booked my Covid test in advance, they didn’t let me in, saying that rules changed. I have sore throat, coughing and a bit chest pain, and this is how our HEALTHCARE system is taking care of our health.And this how they manage reducing the positive cases by NOT TAKING TEST.Bravo

The wait times are less than 30 minutes this week given the change in eligibility for testing. We will have an on-line booking system available this week on Barriehealth.ca. Thank you for your patience.

In a parking lot old and young that are not well are lined up outside in the elements. There are no guidelines to keep people social distanced. While standing around cars that are coming and going.I feel it would be simple and kind to take people's information and a phone number. Then have people wait in their vehicles, to be called in.The waiting time is really bad on top of it. The line has moved two people in 40 mins and there are 30 people a head of me as I write. Not fair for my 10 year old child, nor the 60 something lady behind me.The last issue I have regarding this testing centre, it is is not open on the weekends. Meanwhile other cities are open on the weekends.We can do better Barrie, because this second wave is upon us and the numbers are not going to.

Staff was friendly and pleasant, however this is why I ranked as high as a two. I was directed to two reception desks. One to take my health card info and ask me questions about my symptoms. Then directed to a second reception desk who took my drivers license info, (and asked me the same questions about my symptoms!). Then directed to a doctors office for the test. The doctor asked me all the same questions again!? The staff do not appear to be working with the same computer interface. Maybe that is why I am now in my forth day of waiting for results, Other test centers are turning around results in two days or less! This appears to be a location full of inefficiencies! However they were pleasant and kind! signed ....still waiting!

Please DO NOT go here for your covid testing! I spoke on the phone with an older lady who worked there and explained that I wanted to receive another covid test because I didn’t feel my last one was done correctly as the swab didn’t go deep in at all. She began to yell at me on the phone saying that I’m wasting her tax dollars and I’m wasting her time. STAY AWAY! Worst customer experience of my life.

Terrible clinic. I made an appointment for a certain time but I had to wait 30 min in line to get in.It’s been 4 days and I still haven’t gotten my results back putting my life on hold.. Avoid this clinic and save yourself time.

My husband got tested 6 days ago!! No results no one returned our calls yet! DON'T GET TESTED HERE the waiting is really really bad and annoying.

I went here for my first ever covid test Wednesday October 13th after experiencing some cold symptoms. After being assessed I was approved by the doctor on duty that saw me Claire Richardson for a Rapid PCR Test and was told that I would be called within 1 HOUR with my results and if it’s positive I need to go back and get a non rapid PCR test to confirm the result. I agreed and got the test done. I will note that I did have a great experience with Claire herself but am referring to the negligence of the other staff at this centre. I never received a call from anyone all day and even called a bunch of times and left a message… and then at 630pm I get a call from someone at this assessment centre referring to a “call I received earlier about my positive result” to which I replied that I never received any calls. I was then told on the phone that a positive is a positive result and that I don’t need to go get a non rapid PCR test done at all (so exactly opposite of what the doctor said). Fast forward to today when I get a call from public health saying that I am listed as a “PROBABLE” not positive covid result and that I need to go now for a non rapid PCR test to confirm my result. This was VERY frustrating to hear and could’ve been easily avoided if someone from this centre did their job correctly and called me within an hour or at least before they closed like I was told would happen. I had already notified my work about the positive result and affected several other peoples lives with this FALSE POSITIVE rapid test that picked up my sinus infection and not covid- because since then I have received my NEGATIVE COVID result online from the full PCR test I had to get done this morning. I understand people get busy at work but this is someone’s health and many others around them on the line and procedures should’ve been followed properly.

Nice people working there. However very slow process, results took slightly over four days. RVH's testing centre had a one day turnaround and the drive-thru was very quick.

Highly unprofessional. Worst test center ever. The women who was suppose to give me my results, was incredibly rude and unprofessional in every sense. I was accused of lying about not being told of a four day waiting period. I was accused of lying about the information the doctor gave me.Half of my contact information was missed and left out, so now I am unable to even receive my results. Don't waste your time or energy with such rude careless people.
