There are so many reasons why jiu jitsu and being part of the community who practice it will change your life for the better. OCTA is a wonderful place to learn the gentle art. Owners are really good people, coaches work hard & care, and members are all awesome. It’s a family environment and the kids program is excellent, my 5 & 7 year old love it! I cannot recommend OCTA BJJ enough! I am so happy this placed opened in Oakville as I wanted a local facility for my kids to start learning Jujitsu.Both my kids are members and absolutely love the environment. They are learning, having fun and making new friends. The instructors are great! Extremely friendly and truly care about everyone!Since my kids had such a great start, I personally decided to join and attend classes numerous times a week. I am glad to be apart of this new family. The foundation classes are perfect for Beginners like me. I even attend free roll classes and learn from high level belts. the goal Of this gym is to learn new skills and be apart of a family! All egos are left outside!

They TRUELY have an inclusive and FUN atmosphere with a challenging curriculum that makes anyone able to learn and become great at BJJ. Nobody is left behind, they will explain something 1000 different ways if necessary for a student to understand and learn a technique or concept.OCTA really embodies their goal of making the community better through teaching kids, female led and taught women only classes (no other place in the area that offers this), Yoga, and progressive levels of BJJ. They teach both SELF DEFENCE AND SPORT BJJ which many other gyms don't offer; there are Nogi classes as well!!! They even do in class discussions about self defence theory for adults and simplified versions for kids: situational awareness, mindset (white zone, red zone, black zone), escape is the goal, scenario based drills, etc...This is the place for you if you're new to BJJ, but also if you're experienced and are fed up of having to learn" through getting smashed by ego filled

Great school. I started here three month ago and so far it has been a great experience. The team is super friendly and helpful. Great instructors. The school is clean and the environment very welcoming. They are great with kids as well.

The best dojo in town. Very friendly and inclusive. Has women only bjj/self-difence classes. Kids are taught how to defend against bullying in a safe and fun way. You can start as early as 4 years old.

Excellent BJJ Academy - highly recommended. I'm a beginner to the sport, but I have done trials at other gyms, and the atmosphere here cannot be beat.The instructors are excellent, personable, and the other students of the school are very friendly and welcoming too.If you have considered trying the sport, do a trial here.

After attending other previous clubs I had always found a disconnect with them. However after finding OCTA, I have found my love for the sport again. At OCTA there are no ego's, no pressure to do things you may feel uncomfortable doing. The owners treat everyone with kindness and respect. The staff and coaches are amazing and truly help you out. They are extremely great with the kids programs as well. Looking forward to continuing my BJJ journey with OCTA.
