Great track in Pheseant Glen in Qualicum Beach and good green fees

Nice golf course. There was a little bit of yellow grass as the result of lack of watering. The old building needs to be renovated.

Not sure I'll be going back. I used to really enjoy the occasional round out at Heatherglen - if the mosquitoes weren't too bad, but I played the new layout a few days ago and unfortunately I don't enjoy it much. Hole 12 from the blues is pretty pointless, the landing zone is about 10 yd across with a giant hill on the right side that looks like it will all be rough in the summer and Poplar trees on the left that leave nothing except for a straight shot available. Follow that up with an 80 yd par 3 on hole 14 and it just kind of sours the experience at the course. The greens also had a pretty inconsistent roll, but that just might be a factor of an early spring round. They charge about $100 for a round including cart, and I think if it were $60 I'd consider going. But if you compare the course to something like Maple ridge in the city of Calgary, I'd rather golf in the city.

Changing the rating as the course quality has been dropping off the last couple of years. For the $100 you would pay, I would expect much better conditions

Disappointed that you pay full price for a course under construction. I have golfed there for many years. Even up to last year it was a good course. But now because of all the construction, Hole 5/18 that runs along Glenmore, the backside of the green is a 15ft mound of dirt that surrounds the green. Near the cannel there is a new lake that messes up a few holes. Other than that the course was in good condition.

Great golf course for the price. The first couple holes are quite narrow but the back end really opens up. Nothing too challenging but just an overall nice course. If walking you do have some large treks from green to tee.If you get the golf Calgary card you get 10 percent off and get to qualify 50 days for 50% off.

Overall not the worst but definitely not the best. I’ve heard good things about the course in the past, but more recently the reports are less than favourable and I can understand why. Take this with a grain of salt as it’s still very early in the season, and my first time playing Heatherglen.The course is pretty open, not that challenging aside from the greens which are very quick, so not hard to read but have zero forgiveness which makes chip shots go back and forth if you’re not careful.If the greens were slower and more difficult it would add some more depth to the course. But it’s a pretty standard course with not a lot of standout features aside from the mounds of dirt disguised as bluffs.

I like this course, it's close, convenient well tended too and has lots of shade. The only thing that can be hit or miss is getting some food when they are busy. Sometimes they run out of sandwiches or even hot dogs on a Saturday. The cart service is usually good but they seem to only serve small cans and at $8 a pop it's stupid expensive. They really should be selling tall cans at that price range. Needless to say 67$ walking it's a great spot and I will golf it a dozen times a year.

3.5 stars rounded up. This is a decent course with some challenging holes and well-maintained greens. The back 9 is a bit confusing to navigate and could use some better signage. The green fees are very reasonable, however we thought the carts were a little pricey at $50. They are electric, which is nice compared to the city carts, and have GPS screens. Unfortunately these were completely useless as they only turned on while the cart was moving and would shut down as soon as you stopped. For $50 I would expect the GPS to work. If you have a personal GPS golf tracker make sure you update it before you go as the course recently switched from three 9’s to one 18. All in all we enjoyed our round and would give it another try.

Staff is fantastic and helpful. Very friendly too.Course is in great condition.Update July 10 2023.I was very disappointed that the pro shop said that they no longer fill the water on the ball/club washer on the power carts and they were only there because they got the carts from another course. Either this guy didn't want to do or have it done or this changed in the last two weeks.
