Amica On The Gorge
For the most part staff are wonderful. Suites are new and nice. Food is pretty good but a few residents have told me it’s declined since opening last summer - not sure why. Lots of great activities. Temperature in rooms is terrible. It’s end of June and the heat is still on - making residences unbearably hot and when residents complain they’re told nothing can be done or “leave your front door open”. Frustrating that families often have to advocate for residents for the simplest of issues. General Manager does not respond to concerns or complaints.

I’m bothered that they have done nothing to revitalize the coffee shop (since Bakeology’s unsuccessful run..) I have many many fond memories of the Brookman’s Store and was glad that some version of it survived. How about a public amenity for the neighbourhood? An empty space doesn’t generate money and we all had hopes of a beautiful place where young and old could freely interact. Time to put some real effort in and find a great business..a good local match!

Amica On The Gorge
Place looks very clean inside and out. The color of the building really stands out amongst the other residential homes. The views are amazing along the waterway and are perfect for a stroll or to just sit and relax by. The staff are great and are very caring towards the residents. Very helpful, polite and professional, awesome to see people that really care for and put others needs first.

Awesome place - new building with beautiful indoor and outdoor areas! A family member is here and she is always busy with the activities offered. And the food is delicious.

Amica is home for both my parents since day one. Their doors have always been open, encouraging family visit, and hosting holiday dinners and events. I'm thankful for the care that's provided for my mom & dad, or that's available if necessary. So, Thank you Amica for giving what I can not.

My Aunt was in this place for 7 months and I was denied access to her! There was no court order or restraining order. Yet, I was not allowed speak to her or see her which is elder abuse. You do not want to leave your love ones here.

Tired and old. Paint looks like it hadn't been changed since the 80's. Lots of dings in the walls. Carpet looked dated and dingy. Holes in the ceiling. Not as many amenities or sevices for the price they are asking. Be worth it to head a bit out of town to Colwood or Langford to some of the newer independent living housing they have out there.

My Grandfather is staying here and the facility and staff are quite lovely. Th water is just outside their front door with a nice walking path. The best trait thus far for us has been the amazing bakery just outside the complex which is such a treat. A great spot to meet up nearby that allows him to get outside (and the bakery is truly amazing, we also buy him goodies there to send up to his room). We would recommend this facility.

My mom lived at the Amica on Gorge for just over 1 year before relocating to live with me in Ontario. The dining staff, concierge and office staff couldn't have been more wonderful. And my mom's suite was just beautiful. We have nothing but positive things to say about all of it. Highly recommended.

beautiful place, friendly and wonderful staff. my grandma has been living in memory care there for a couple years now and all the folks who work here are just fantastic
