We were delighted to meet Brenda and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. She is a gem and knows so much about the area. We immediately felt at home there and slept like logs in an incredible bed!! So peaceful and tranquil! Gift gallery is full of beautiful things! Thank you so much Brenda!!

This place was one of if not THE most gorgeous places in the entire country. Most people don't know that in southern Ontario there's these beautiful places that we all consider a gem! Everything from the guesthouse, to the history of the south Bay mouth, to the Chi Cheemaun, an incredibly large sized ferry, to the open view of Lake Huron off the coast of the bay mouth, is all something you SHOULD experience yourself. I really mean it when I say that The South Bay Gallery & Guest house is certainly a place to be!

We had our dog and took the place because it was all that was availableand we were too tired to keep driving. The cabin she gave us was filthy and depressing.After a few hours we loaded the car and left, skipped thebreakfast and drove to Espanola to eat breakfast at Tim's.

This is the second time we’ve stayed here, passing through Manitoulin. Rooms are comfortable & well-appointed, and Brenda & Jose are very welcoming. It couldn’t be more convenient for the ferry, but also feels like you’re still in the country, rather than the tourist part of town. Definitely also check out the Gallery. I again found some really unusual gifts. My husband loved the firepit! They used to do breakfast; not sure if they don’t any more or it was that we were post-Labor Day.

The Owner, Brenda was an absolute pleasure. She was incredibly welcoming and comforting. She made the stay feel like i was visiting a relative i've never seen before. The room i stayed in was incredibly cozy. Great bed, great pillows, even better bedding.The room was a tad small, but for one person, plenty of space.Location is phenomenal as well, right off the Ferry.Highly recommend staying.

Well what can you say Brenda is outstanding. She knows and loves Manitoulin Island and it shows. She told us all the places to go see on the island , where to eat and she is just a genuine amazing person. Now unfortunately I have to say that the room was not the best . The bed was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever slept on. Also there was a lot of insects in the room. No microwave or coffee machine and considering that this is not a B and B anymore it would have been good to have that in the room. If they change the mattress and update a bit this is a good spot to enjoy manitoulin island.
