I have been eagerly awaiting the opening of Smoque n' Bones' second location for quite some time. As a frequent visitor to Baldwin Street, I am thrilled to see this culinary hotspot continue to evolve with even more amazing food options.Smoque n' Bones is already renowned as one of the best American BBQ spots in Toronto, and their new location is a brighter, fancier, and more inviting space compared to their original establishment. I arrived at 12 pm for their soft opening, only to discover that, as is often the case with such events, things didn't go exactly as planned. However, soft openings allow for these hiccups, and the staff kindly asked us to return at 2 pm.To pass the time, we decided to visit Butter & Blue, a new cafe that also recently opened on Baldwin Street. It's fascinating how this street continues to attract such amazing restaurants and cafes.Before I get too off topic, we decided to head back to Smoque n' Bones at 1 pm, hoping they might be ready earlier than expected. Fortunately, they were indeed open and ready to welcome us.The staff at Smoque n' Bones were incredibly friendly, attentive, and had a great sense of humor. Despite the delay in delivering our food, they made sure we were still enjoying ourselves with their witty banter and attentive service.We opted for two share platters so that we could sample every type of meat on offer. As for the sides, we indulged in mac 'n' cheese, tater tots, sweet potato waffle fries, coleslaw, cornbread, and grilled corn reminiscent of elote.The meats were truly outstanding. They were juicy, smoky, and packed with flavor. While some items could have been slightly juicier, overall, everything was quite solid. The beef brisket was tender, the mac 'n' cheese was delightfully cheesy, the tater tots were addicting, and the ribs were succulent, complemented by a well-balanced tangy BBQ sauce.Having missed out on the opportunity to try authentic American BBQ during my Chicago trip, I can confidently say that Smoque n' Bones is as close as it gets in Toronto. I had a fantastic time with friends, relishing in great food and charming service. For now, I would rate it 4/5. Hopefully, as they settle into their new location, things will pick up and be just as exceptional as their original establishment.

This place is ON POINT! I think the only restaurant in the city with this kind of atmosphere and level of detail. The space is beautifully curated and every detail is well throughout. From small knickknacks through lighting, flowers and music it makes me feel like in Savannah, Georgia. The food is delicious, authentic, fresh and well price. The drinks are by far one of the best ones I had in a long time (paper plane and passion fruit! Yum yum yum! The staff is professional, courteous and accommodating. The owner which is also the mastermind behind this place ensures that all guests are well taken care and the good vibe is maintained! This place is check off all my boxes, great for date, family, quick bite, business. Absolutely love love love

Pros: The food was excellent, the patio was gorgeous.Cons: They seem to be quite short-staffed. I felt bad for the servers who were doing their best to navigate the hour+ wait some people experienced for their food.

I am temporarily giving Smoque n Bones 3 stars based on my experience tonight. It was their second weekend at the new Baldwin location, and while I expected some hiccups, the inefficiency was tough to handle.The restaurant was severely understaffed, resulting in cluttered tables and a 30-minute wait for water. The service was disorganized, with customers waiting for bills and missing items while tables remained empty for extended periods. The wait for food exceeded an hour, and unfortunately, half of my order never made it to the table due to confusion among the staff and issues in the kitchen. Several tables experienced similar delays, indicating a lack of coordination in all departments. Despite the chaos, the staff remained friendly and patient.On a positive note, Smoque N Bones has a beautiful patio, and the dishes I did receive were delicious, showcasing their potential. The flavors were rich, and the attention to detail in preparation was evident.I plan to revisit this location in the near future to see if improvements have been made. The restaurant has the potential to be fantastic if they address their operational challenges. Please just hire more staff. I hope the management takes note of the issues and works towards a smoother dining experience. If they succeed, I look forward to giving a 5-star review in the future. (July 2023)

Though the food was good, the wait was not. Management needs to hire more staff so they can handle the crush of people inside and on the patio. Not cool, owners! We waited for over an hour for a glass of water... And only received one for the table. Stop banking on our need to eat out while you skimp on staff and have us pay a premium regardless.

Been waiting for this new location for a very long time and it’s finally open!! And what a beautiful restaurant it is, inside and out (that patio is wow!). The food is outstanding as expected. Consistent with their Queen St location. They had a wonderful cocktail selection and although I’m not one for cocktails, I was strong armed by my wife and not disappointed :)). Nice to have these guys closer to our home and we’ll definitely be going back!

Customers who arrived after us were seated while we were at the bar grabbing a drink waiting for our table to be ready… 40 minutes later we were told they have no room for us (inside and outside) and we had to leave even though we constantly followed up to make sure we were not forgotten. Worth noting I already have booked a table outside and was there 20 minutes early. There is difference between overwhelmed staff and bad service. That was bad.

The Smoque N Bones new branch openedAll foods are delicious and amazing, location is good, large patio and the restaurant has a very nice atmosphere.

I attended their soft opening which accompanied by great quality food, exotic atmosphere , pretty spacious and beautifully designed.friendly and professional staff.Overall highly recommended
