We ordered Take-out so I cant review the dine in experience.Our order was ready within 40 min of placing it. Got it home and everything was correct. Salmon prices are up a bit at this time but they warn you before you order. All in all we got a ton of sushi and I believe it was priced fair.

Food is delicious. Can be a bit of a wait sometimes. I was there on a Monday for dinner and they had a waiting time of 30 minutes. I was surprised for a Monday night. My group enjoyed a variety of sushi, miso soup, and green onions cakes. The best dish I've experienced there was the delicious Japanese garden salad. If you like salads you will enjoy this work of art. It was so fresh with many different flavors. I had to just stare at it in awe at first because it was so beautiful. Usually salads are so boring but they put in the effort to make it beautiful. Great experience from start to end. Highly recommend them.

Extremely good food. Pleasant atmosphere. Only downfall was being seated right beside another full table, when there were lots of others available.

We did not have reservations and was told it would be a 15 minute wait. It turned out to be a 30 minute wait. There were plenty of tables open but I guess they did not have enough staff to run at full capacity. We waited another 20 minutes for the food. The table next to us waited 50 minutes for their food. The sushi was okay/good. They had large sashimi pieces.

I am disappointed to have to leave a 1 star review.The food was decent and our server was nice but we had a horrible waiting game.We arrived and hostess told us we'd be waiting 15 min or longer when the restaurant was fairly empty. My mom and sister wanted drinks so we asked to sit at the bar. Hostess said we can sit there but we won't get drinks.We sat and the bartender did serve drinks anyway. We were there for 35 minutes before being offered a table. Bartender said she'd serve us and it'd be faster.It was not fast. We waited 20 minutes for the order to be taken. We were told the miso soup would be fast and it wasn't, it was 15 minutes later that it arrived. We are now looking at 1 hr 10 minutes and no food. After another 15 we got the appy deluxe Platter which was the highlight of the meal as the boat looked cool and the portions were pretty big.We waited another 15 minutes to get our actual meal, and by the time we finished it had been an over 2 hour ordeal. The sashimi I had was decent but not amazing and very pricey.Just not sure why the service was extremely slow when it was not even busy. Really ruined my ability to give a fair review

Coming from BC where good sushi is abundant, I was pleased to find this gem. The prices are a tad over what you’d normally pay but it was clear why. The quality of the nigiri and sashimi was outstanding, the cuts were tasty, fresh, and melt-like-butter. The service was very friendly and timely. A bit of a wait between dishes but that’s to be expected with how much care went into each one. I’ll definitely come again if I find myself in Edmonton in the future.

It's been a while since I last ordered from Sumo, it's its going to be a long time again. I ordered take-out, and u don't know if it means presentation doesn't matter? I ordered the aloha rolls and spicy salmon tempura maki. I have ordered both in the past and thought I knew what to expect. The aloha rolls were very poorly cut. The rolls were huge in length. Almost the length of my finger. I had to take multiple bites to eat each piece. They were also so spicy, my mouth was on fire. I like spicy rolls, but not when that's all you get. They also tasted very fishy. I know, sushi, it's fish. But they're not supposed to taste overwhelmingly fishy. Maybe the extra spice was to disguise? Definitely not worth the $18.The only thing that gives this review 3 stars is that the spicy salmon tempura maki were good. I should have just gotten two orders of that.

Sumo Sumo is one of the better Japanese restaurants I've tried. The food is great and the service is top tier! I brought my daughter there for her 21st birthday and she loved it as well! The menu is very fairly priced. I would highly recommend!
