Huronia Animal Hospital

Called with an emergency nearly a year ago. They said they weren't accepting new patients. Our cat was dying. He died at home. Called again 3 days ago with a different cat emergency as we thought our cat ate lilies and they put us on hold for over 5 minutes. I told my husband to just take him over. They handed him a card telling us to call and find out if lilies are poisonous and it would cost us $75USD for the call. We took our cat to Barrie emerg and he ended up having a blood clot and needed to be put down. This is not an emergency vet. They will not help in an emergency situation.

Always a great experience, the vets and staff at huronia animal hospital are always friendly and knowledgeable. I never feel pressured or obligated to have added services for my animals. They love my dogs and my dogs are never scared to walk through the door.Thank you for all you do! ❤

Dr. Driver, Jody, and Valerie were phenomenal in caring for our pet in an emergency. The veterinary care here is compassionate, professional and they truly care for your fur babies and the parents too. The follow-up phone calls meant so much, and we would highly recommend this veterinary office for all of your pet care. So thankful to have found such a caring team for our pets!

Great place, great doctors, marvelous in both the best of times & the hardest of times with pets.Anyone needing a vet, you cannot go wrong here. They love animals & treat the owners like family. They will really talk you.

Phoned this vet about an issue my dog was having. Since they treated it before, I asked that she be prescribed with the same meds and special food that previously cleared it up. We agreed that her urine should be tested before they would dispense any meds.I brought the urine in and they phoned back and said they wouldn’t dispense the meds until I brought her in for an exam. Total contradiction of what we had agreed on. When I protested and requested they at least reduce the cost of the unplanned exam, it took them days to come to a decision. Days of my pet being in discomfort. They finally suggested I find another vet.Probably for the best. I will find another vet who cares for animals instead of their bank accounts.

Dr. Sheila loves her patients. Always takes the time to talk and answer questions. She has cared for 3 of our pets over the last 12 years.

Sheila has been caring for our fury friends for nearly 20 years and won't consider anywhere else. Had an issue with staff a year ago and attentively looked after. Our dogs wellbeing is in great hands. Have now been seeing Tania and she is equally amazing to work with. We value this relationship. Thanks!

As always, options are offered and budget allowing you make your choice.While I understand there are critical patients especially those that have to say goodbye to their owners (heartbreaking for those pet parents & heartbreaking for those watching while waiting for their pets' discharge)I was left wondering. As I do not live in Barrie I was not able to return home as I waited for my pet to be released. I admitted her at 9:15. At 1:40 I phoned to check that they had her as I had had no update and still didnt but would let me know. Had yet been assessed. At 5pm they called to let me know that hopefully soon she would be seen but I was allowed to leave as long as I stayed in Barrie and phone accessible. At 6 they called with their findings , and options all based on budget of course. Finally after 9 hours, with pet and antibiotics on board we were able to be on our way home.

I did not go to this place as they would not see my fog because we were not a client. They also stated there was no other vet clinic that would like see us and we would need to travel about an hour to an emergency clinic. I found them to be very rude. I did go to the Penatanguishene Animal Hospital and they treated us very kindly, firted us with a double booking and took care of our dog. We were on vacation. I would not recommend the Huronia Animal Hospital at all.
