Hearthstone Inn Port Hawkesbury

Simple no frills inn to stay at! Our room was very clean and a good location to plenty of shops in the area. If I am ever needing a room in the area again I would definitely choose this place again.Great view out of the room too!

Great place for your money! Room was clean. Bathroom was clean, and had extra towel ( love that). Great service, lovely check in lady.The breakfast at the Country Kitchen was AMAZING! Best coffee of all the places we stayed at whilst travelling Cape Breton.

A very large, comfortable room, the bed was great . The room and furniture were a bit dated but they are doing renovations. The bathroom toilet was VERY tiny and low, the only real drawback to the room.

Work puts me here sometimes. Its getting old and dirty. Its a place to stay but not that nice

I'd assume that people writing very negative reviews are used to big chain hotels that give the strict illusion of cleanliness and perfection - which is fine, that's where I usually stay too.The fact of the matter is, this hotel is in a small town in Cape Breton, and has cheaper rates. The room is clean and renovated, yes there are some cracks in the tile, but does that matter to your stay?If you need somewhere the stay near the causeway that's clean, quiet, and has great customer service, this is it! Plus, pet friendly and low rates, and their restaurant is quite and has good diner-esque food.If you're looking for a big city, chain hotel experience, this probably isn't exactly what you're looking for.But some day we'll wish we had this small businesses back.

The service here is great! The restaurant is great and the beds are comfy.It's located fairly close to everything in town as well.

Spacious king room facing back to the river, very quiet. Fair wifi. They have 2 different buildings at each side of the road. Restaurant opens for breakfast.Good value for money.

We had to find a place to stay as our vehicle broke down while traveling back home. Hearthstone had rooms available so we took one as the price was reasonable. The front desk was very helpful and allowed us a later checkout the next day as our vehicle was being repaired. Rooms are basic but beds were fine and everything was clean. All we really wanted for a night. The only thing I don't like and no reflection on Hearthstone is it's hard to book directly unless you go there. Price is higher online. Anyway we very happy with service and room so all good.

The rooms were pretty clean. And the bathroom is nice. My only complaint with the room is how if you close the curtains, it completely blocks the air conditioning unit.The location is alright too. It's about an 8 minute drive to the main strip of restaurants/stores. And it's very close to the highway towards Halifax or Cabot's Trail.

Upon arrival to the office I was greeted by friendly front desk staff, checked in quickly, without issues. The room I was staying in was across the road from the check-in building. The walls were a little thin, so I could hear conversations through the wall from neighbouring rooms - a minute detail. The room was spacious and clean, and a great starting point to do the Cabot Trail. The morning view was phenomenal!
