Daniel and the Underpinners are perhaps the best contractors I have ever worked with. They are responsive, knowledgable, timely, thorough, friendly and considerate. They completed our underpinning on budget and in less time than expected. The job site was always clean and tidy and every one of the tradespeople on site was friendly and courteous and treated my home as if it was their own. Daniel and the crew demonstrated their in depth knowledge of the work required from start to finish. I would recommend The Underpinners to every one of my clients and friends. Highly recommend the Underpinners. We used their services to do a sunken patio/walkout and basement underpinning in Cabbagetown Toronto. From the beginning, Daniel was super helpful, walked us through the process, was responsive, and provided lots of suggestions on how we could improve the space, and always went out of his way to help. With a pandemic-fuelled lockdown looming no one would think it would be a good idea to undertake a basement underpinning job in downtown Toronto. Thankfully we had the guys from the Underpinners doing the work. With the high level of uncertainty and concern being felt across the country, Daniel and his team were committed to our project and took exceptional efforts to keep, not only themselves safe and healthy, but my family as well, while keeping city inspectors regularly up to date on our project's progress. Daniel and his crew were amazing to work with. Professional, courteous and responsive. A bit of a messy job for sure (due to our 100+ year old semi being on a small downtown Toronto street, with only street parking) but so worth it. The Underpinners are problem solvers: as I wanted to save our old lilac tree, they arranged for a smaller bin and worked around it, giving them less than an ideal work environment... but the lilacs were just beginning to bloom when their work was done! Additionally, with Covid-19 lock down emergency measures in place, we anticipated our job's start date to be pushed back to some vague date in the future. Daniel did his homework: since we had our permits approved and ready to go, we moved ahead in a safe manner for both us + his staff. Based on my experience, the work they completed and the challenges they faced, I completely recommend The Underpinnners Inc.! We lowered our basement from 6'-6 finished ceiling height to 8'-2" finished ceiling height with a new beam

We were undertaking a major renovation that included a second storey addition. Before we could do anything, however, we needed to get our foundation underpinned, the basement lowered, and all of the drains replaced. It was by far the most significant portion of the entire renovation, and I was very anxious about finding a capable contractor. Daniel at The Underpinners Inc. immediately put me at ease and it quickly became apparent that his crew was competent, experienced, and perfectly suited for a job of this magnitude. I was not disappointed. All of the work was completed on time and on budget with no unexpected problems or costs. The crew went out of their way to be courteous and respectful towards the neighbours, and they kept the jobsite safe, neat, and clean at all times. Dan and his supervisors were always on site and were available to answer any questions that would arise. I would highly recommend The Underpinners Inc. to anyone looking for an honest, capable, and fully reliable underpinning contractor. They would be my first choice in the future.
