Our experience at the Bert Bark Inn was fabulous! Roshni and Lana are very welcoming hosts and provided an excellent warm spot to stay on our first night in Newfoundland on our four-week bike trip across the Maritimes. Beautiful home where any traveller feels as home with books, maps and artwork everywhere.

Lovely, unique place to stay before we boarded the ferry the next morning. Hosts were charming and wonderful. The place was perfect for our family of 4 and could have accommodated a couple of more kids. Hundreds of books to enjoy, lots of board games, delicious teas and coffee. Glad we had the place to ourselves because I would not have wanted to share the space with strangers.

Bert Bark Inn is a piece of heaven. If you are looking for a spot to just get away from this hectic life and breathe for a minute, then this spot is it. The grounds are beautiful with a gorgeous garden, lots of lounge space, and absolute breathtaking views. The owners are just amazing, friendly, and so informative—I attended a seed workshop there and it was very well presented.Do yourself a favour and have a Bert Bark experience.

Beautiful place in Codroy Valley. Conveniently close to Channel-Port-aux-Basques ferry. Charming owners with friendly cats. Lots of room! Great books!

A beautiful place to land after the ferry to Port aux Basques. Charming, comfortable and clean, with a great shower, an impressive library, and three very sweet cats! The owners have put a lot of thought and care into this eco-hostel and it shows.

I had such a lovely stay here in early June. It was the right amount of cosy and comfortable - the lounge is perfect on a cold day to snuggle on the couch and read a book. And it was great to be able to kayak on the waterway on their doorstep. It was amazing to see the mountains and surrounds from another perspective.Roshni and Lana are great hosts who even put on a movie night in their ‘theatre’. I was cycling and really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of Bert Bark Inn to stop and rest. Would definitely recommend.

Cozy accomodation with top-notch decor and groovy vibes! There was a little mix-up which resulted in us sharing the space with another group. But overall I'd recommend this inn!

Bert Bark Inn
Bert Bark is an amazing place surrounded by nature. It's a great place to relax and unwind. There was plenty of room for six of us. There were also lots of books and games, and even swimming in the nearby lake.
