ABSOLUTELY THE BEST BEST BEST PLACE TO BE IN CHURCHILL!DONT LOOK FOR ANY OTHER PLACE, THIS IS EXACTLY WHERE YOU NEED TO BE WHEN IN CHURCHILL!I was in Churchill from Feb 20th to 23rd, 2023 and it was the best holiday I could ask for. I was travelling alone and thankfully BSBS (Blue Sky Bed and Sled) was empty with just Gerald and me!I had paid only for 1 aurora Viewing and dogsledding ride but we did so many more things wow. From itsatinaq museum to aurora viewing every night I don't think I could ask for a better host. Staying with Gerald you not only learn about Churchill but you also learn how to survive in the cold from layering clothes to standing against the wind and ofc wearing your snow boots lol. Gerald makes sure his guests are warm in the harsh churchill winter. Trust me it's harsh, I was there in Feb when temperatures were wayy below 0 (-55°C) and it was impossible to stand outside for more than 5 min.You should try to go at a time when Gerald is free (preferably off season) as he is a great person to get to know. I was lucky to have the house empty with only me and Gerald which helped make my trip 10x better. He took care of me like i was a baby and i absolutely adored that. Having not gone back home for the last 6 months, I really felt at home when I was at BSBS. He gave me the perfect amount of privacy and interactions which made this a well balanced and very enjoyable trip. TRUST ME, JUST BOOK WITH THEM. YOU WONT REGRET IT.

BlueSky Bed & Sled was the reason our stay in Churchill was amazing! The food was outstanding, the beds comfortable, and the coffee and conversation flowed!! We highly recommend Gerald and Jenafor as hosts. They made sure we experienced everything we could in the short time we had! Their willingness to share their knowledge, expertise, and authentic lived history with us made our stay feel like a home away from home! We highly recommend BlueSky Bed & Sled!!!

Jenafor and Gerald are extraordinary hosts and truly make you feel like you are part of the family. Highly recommend the bed and breakfast as well as the dog sledding. You'd be hard pressed to meet a more welcoming pair in the tiny town!

The Bluesky Bed & Sled exceeded my expectations by far, and raised the bar for all my future b&b stays. My amazing experience started before I even set foot in Churchill – I spoke with Jenafor on the phone a handful of times and she was beyond informative about my upcoming trip to Churchill; it was the initial reason I chose this spot for our Churchill accommodations. I can’t express enough how welcoming Jenafor and Gerald are! To echo previous posts, staying here felt like being in your own house – it was such a warm environment. It was so fun to spend time relaxing with our hosts, watching picture slideshows of Churchill in the summer and enjoying cake (my sister and I planned this as a birthday trip for our mom and Jenafor was kind enough to make a polar bear cake to surprise my mom with – and it was delicious, as all of her baking!). It was also the perfect atmosphere to meet new people from around the world – the other guests staying there. Our evenings were filled with laughter and great conversation. Our hosts made sure that we had everything we needed, and even picked us up from the airport and dropped us off when we needed to get to a tour early in the day. I was also a challenging guest with a plant-based diet but that didn’t seem to phase Jenafor at all, as she made such delicious breakfasts and baked goods! We got the chance to go dog sledding with Gerald – first time for us and it was so much fun. We loved getting to know more about their dog sledding operation and the care they provide for all their dogs (31 at the time of our stay), regardless of whether they still run or are retired. One of the dogs stayed in the house also, as the dogs rotate through; it was nice having her around. I can’t say enough good things about this place – our vacation wouldn’t have been the same without it. I highly recommend it to anyone heading to Churchill!

The tour with Jennifer and Gerald is truly an amazing experience that I will never forget. Jennifer and Gerald are some of the best tour guides that I have ever met and let us see the best of Churchill. I truly appreciate Jennifer and Gerald for their work.

Sadly could not stay in the B&B but enjoyed a short dogsled ride with Gerald. Fantastic-I so wish it could have been longer, but sadly there was not enough snow. As it was Gerald and his team had rebuilt the snow track to ensure we could use the sled and not wheels- this was really appreciated. We had extra time so Gerald - who has good local knowledge, took us on a nice 4x4 ride and some great local animal spotting incl polar bear. Thanks Jenn for the nice homebakes! A great day- thankyou.

Stayed here twice - February 2013 and March 2014. I've been to several B&B's, and this is by far the best I've had anywhere. Gerald and Jenafor go FAR out of their way to help you maximize your stay in Churchill. What's more, they really treat you like part of the family in every way. They love to show you around their town, and help you photograph northern lights and whatever other experience you may want. They sometimes provide more food than just breakfast, though you probably shouldn't count on that. They talk openly about the struggles of life in Churchill. Their polar bear pancake breakfasts are really neat!Their dogsled tours are also awesome. They treat their dogs well and it shows. The dogs love taking the runs.Any gripes? Maybe the house itself. While certainly adequate, the spaces are a bit small - the common area, the stairway (pretty narrow), the upstairs bathroom (you can bump your head in there if you're not careful....I did at least twice), the bedrooms (not bad, but a little tight if you're like me and leave your suitcase on the floor and live out of it). But who cares? The owners are what make or break a B&B and they pass with flying colors. They also said they're going to put in an addition, which will probably help some.Bottom line: If I return to Churchill, I will DEFINITELY stay with them again.

If you are not staying with them (like me) DO NOT LEAVE Churchill without connecting with them for tours! What a great opportunity to see Churchill and the surrounding area with someone who has lived here a long time, and is knowledgeable about fauna, flora and weather! The dog sledding adventure was amazing. The love for the pups is palpable and the passion for showing off the land is evident. Don't miss it!
