This furniture store works closely with Toronto scammer Rupert Young.Rupert Young promises local artists that he can sell their artwork at UpCountry. UpCountry relies on Rupert Young to lie to artists by promising to promote artwork in their Castlefield Rd Store in Toronto. When artist have brought in art, it becomes damaged and is used to stage their store for free. When customers request prices for the art, UpCountry either refuses to sell the art by lying about whether it is for sale, or UpCountry provides an inflated fake price that the customer won't entertain.UpCountry exploits local artists further by taking 50% in the event of any art being sold.Definitely not worth the trip to give these scammers your business.

I hate shopping so when I need to purchase a piece of furniture I head to Up Country on Caledonia. The size of the shop is great (not too large), the selection is varied, the quality is reliable and the pricing is fair. Plus, David Craig, the general manager, is super helpful and a pleasure to deal with.

Nothing but great things to say about my experience at Upcountry! I bought my dining table and bench back in October with David's help and great expertise. I advised then that I was still under renovations and would need to delay the delivery until the new year. This was absolutely no issue, and when I was ready, David contacted the courier and the very next day, the table had arrived! I do still need to unpack it from the boxes, but I am sure everything is in perfect order. I highly recommend this store if you are looking for a seamless and worry free experience!

Right from the get-go, David Craig of UpCountry gave me great customer service. I had heard about a family-owned upholstery company located in Montreal, that had been making sofas for 55 years. I wanted to see one, up close. After running around from store to store frantically searching , I finally contacted Romano (name of sofa company) who put me in touch with UpCountry. David told me that not only did he have the model I was interested in, but several other models that I could check out.I found David to be very knowledgeable, and very helpful. He let me wander around his huge store while working at his computer, and I felt comfortable enough to ask him endless questions about the different sofas and fabric selection and colours . He always responded thoughtfully and sometimes with suggestions to consider. I never felt hurried or pressured. Finally I made a decision and not only did David offer me the sale price, but allowed me to store it for a couple of months in his warehouse, until my renos were complete. That was just before the pandemic. The painting and installations were put on hold and everything shut down. Finally after more than 7 months I was able to have it delivered and I’m more than happy with my purchase. Throughout this whole time, I felt very guilty about taking up warehouse space, but David would never accept my offer to pay for storage, and always remembered me when I called. I’ll be shopping there again in the near future, for accessory pieces. My Canadian-made sofa is very good quality, perfectly sized for my space, the many custom options were fantastic, and the price was very good because it’s made right here in Canada! The delivery guys were really great too!

Good selection with limited decor styles (mainly farmhouse?). However, the gentleman behind the counter was the furthest thing from helpful. We asked if there were any 24” wide armchairs (which I know is pretty impossible to find) and he just kept repeating that it was impossible. Tried suggesting some alternatives but didn’t bother getting up from behind the counter and just kept pointing in the general direction of things. Went to Elte Market down the street and bought two beautiful armchairs where I had amazing customer service from *all* the sales people on the floor. Probably better quality than whatever I would have gotten at Up Country.TL;DR: good selection for farmhouse, terrible customer service

Six beautiful dining chairs just arrived from UpCountry. It took several months due to production and shipping delays (covid) but David kept me up-to-date all the way. The chairs were discontinued several months ago but he managed to get me 6 of the 38 destined for Canada AND at a great price. Thank you David and Derek.

Fantastic result for my client. David Craig was absolutely super to deal with when purchasing the double gyro chandelier by Timothy Oulton. Although photo is a work in progress: chandelier has been transformative to the space. Up Country is a much favoured destination for great furniture and helpful advise!

Up Country not only has great furniture..it has David Craig.we have worked together for years but when i had three projects to do from scratch and they all had to look different he helped me achieve success.There is something for everyone. The Caledonia Store is awesome and you cannot beat the price point.....Thank you David Craig
