Ben and Brendan were an absolute delight to work with. They delivered a very solid deck / front porch for us in a quick time frame. The detailing and quality of construction were both very satisfactory. Their price was fair. It is nice to find a GTA contractor who is 100% dependable. We will definitely hire Northern Developments for two other projects we have for our place. Highly recommended.

Brendan, Ben and their team did a fantastic job building our deck! The project involved demolition of the existing deck and building a new larger deck, two staircases, and concrete landing pads. I'm always very particular about the contractors and tradespeople I hire and I could not have been more pleased with the outcome. Their workmanship is excellent and they were always available to discuss my questions and suggestions throughout the project. We are especially pleased with the winder (corner) staircase as well as their suggestion to change the width of the main staircase. Widening the main staircase to seven feet is a striking architectural element, and with less railing on that side sightlines were improved. Due to the deck size and height, we had a building permit and the city inspector passed everything without any issues. Brendan and Ben structured the deck above and beyond code requirements and it looks great! If you're considering replacing a deck or any outdoor project you should give these guys a call. They do fantastic work!

Northern Developments has been a customer of ours for years, within that time frame we have seen the quality of workmanship on each job they completed. When it came time to building a deck at our home there was no doubt in our minds of who we were going to hire. I hired another decking company who started the project and kept me on the line for 6 months. The works was subpar which I could see. I had a deck without railings and I needed them urgently. I called Brendan based on a referral from my neighborhood facebook group and I could not have been happier. He was responsive, quick to set up an appointment and he showed up on time.He was honest about what I had and didn't try to sell me on ripping it all out and re-doing it. In the end we agreed to see how the original" job weathered the winter and will do an assessment in the spring.He agreed to take on the job as he could see I was in a tough spot. He told me the price for the railings I wanted and told me what he would need to do to ensure his work stood up (he needed to reinforce the original job).He is a kind gentleman who is interested in doing a good job done just knocking out work as quickly as possible. He told me when he was coming on site (and showed up)

We hired Northern Developments to rebuild our aging deck. To fulfill our requests, they proposed reusing the foundational structure (as it is covered and in solid shape), refinishing some non-structural ornamental pieces (as this would save money and time) and rebuilding all the rest in a similar style. The rebuild included a deck surface rebuild with a curved perimeter, arcing handrails to match, and a full rebuild of the stairs and handrail and new ornamental woodwork to match the other salvaged refinished parts. They were very clear about costs, and we discussed many options including ways to reduce costs or ways to upgrade further. They started working on schedule, and all work went according to schedule and budget. The team were friendly and respectful, and our neighbours even texted us to say how nice they were. The final result is absolutely solid and we’re very happy. We would have no hesitations using Northern Developments for future projects.

We used Northern Developments to design and build our backyard deck. The result was above our expectations! Highly professional crew who spent time ensuring the work will meet our requirements. Northern Developments provided us with a computer rendering of the design and we went from there tweaking things as needed. Excellent workmanship and attention to detail! Highly recommended!

I had such a wonderful experience with Northern Developments! They added a dividing fence between me and neighbours yard, new gates, and new fencing for the back of my yard. They were done quickly and the quality of the fence is amazing! The house is right downtown Toronto and they had no problem at all working with the space limitations I have in my backyard. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for quality, efficiency, and fair prices.

We are thrilled with our new decks and very happy we chose Northern Developments! Brendan, Ben, and their team were a pleasure to work with and their craftsmanship is excellent. They are a young group, but very ambitious, skilled, patient, collaborative, and friendly.They demolished our existing decks and constructed for us a two storey pressure treated wood deck on helical piles, with Trex flooring and waterproofing, aluminum railings/ glass partition, and a spiral staircase. We were very particular as to how we wanted the decks to look, and much attention was given to make certain that everything was precise and to our satisfaction. The job site was always left tidy. Certain elements were new to them, such as the spiral staircase, but they were excellent at coordinating with the staircase contractor to ensure that the staircase was integrated beautifully.We are very happy with our gorgeous new decks, excited to use them, and would be very pleased to have Brendan and Ben return in the spring to do some additional projects for us. Ben and his crew replaced our deck, shed, and other side of the fence. His team was ‘all hands on deck’ (LOL) – efficient, hard-working, collaborative, and thorough.
