St Lazare Ranch

We spent 4 days in Montreal and decided to visit St. Lazare Ranch on the way back to Toronto on March 16. The visit far exceeded our expectations! We arrived earlier than our scheduled time so we were invited to go and feed the horses and spend some time with them prior to our ride. Our trail guide, Stephen, was amazing! We visited with our 11 and 7 year old children who had never been on more than a pony ride and he matched their ages and abilities with the perfect horses. They were very calm, good-natured and very intuitive! I was worried about the trotting but Stephen made sure we all knew what to do and checked in all of us repeatedly throughout the ride. We were lucky enough to visit on a sunny (but cold) day after last week's huge snowfall which made for a very beautiful ride. My only piece of advice is to be prepared for cold weather; especially your feet as they will get colder than you think as they're not moving.Stephen was very friendly and knowledgeable and within a few minutes of riding, we were all at ease and enjoying the experience knowing we were in very capable hands. Thank you so much for a very memorable experience. It was an amazing way to end our visit to the Montreal area - the fact that it was on the way back to Toronto was also a big bonus!

What a great experience, recommend it ! I purchased two private lessons for my cousin and I on her birthday . We loved it ! We were greeted by Melissa when we got there, she was quick to make us feel at ease; since this was our first lesson . First we got to groom the horses then we learnt how to put their saddles on and then we had lovely ride with our horses and the very knowledgable Melissa. So relaxing and fun ! The horses, the ranch and the staff are just great !

Awesome place to go. Beautiful scenery and the staff and guides are super welcoming. My son and I felt very safe around the horses. They are so well kept and trained. Definately going back again. Thank you for such a great experience on the sunset tour. It's well worth the money :) can't wait to come back.

The best activity that I totally enjoyed. The place is nice and clean. The resection is heated and receptionist was very sweet and helpful. The trail ride was just amazing, we all loved riding and horses were suitable for everyone including the beginners and kids. Overall I loved my experience very much and we be back regularly. I recommend this activity to everyone.

I absolutely love this place! I did the 1.5 hour trail which was amazing, loved it so much that I stayed for a sunset trail which was absolutely beautiful! Nothing like riding a horse at sunset! All the horses were well behaved and very approchable! The guides are very nice and explained very clearly what to do! I recommend St.Lazare Ranch to anyone looking to go horseback riding. Whether a first time rider or a more advanced rider! You'll have a blast! St. Lazare Ranch is the place to go!

A very fun adventure close to home ! This was the perfect first experience for riding horses... My friends and I really enjoyed our 1 hour ride and can't wait to go back !!! The service was great and the staff were really professional.

It was absolutely beautiful! We took the VIP tour. The scenic views on the walk, the different forms of riding we were able to try and the guide( tracy) was wonderful! My sister was nervous and they made it perfect for her by assigning her a calm horse namedTonto( big daddy). All in all it was amazing the only negative thing was that it did not last all day!(good thing though)My sister is already planning her birthday and so am I. This is definitely a family, friend get together and the way they saved and treat those horses is beyond wonderful. We need more people( and places) like these to teach us how to respect nature and animals.

I absolutely loved it..... did the 2 hour trail and watched the sunset...amazing. great service well behaved horses my horse's name was Blossom. Our guide was very nice and explained clearly what to do . I recommend St.Lazare Ranch to anyone looking to go horse back riding. You'll have a blast.

Small, but great place for a trail ride! I went on the Sunset Ride with my boyfriend in late November a few years ago and we still talk about going back! This was probably one of the best horseback trail rides we have been on, mainly because of the wonderful guides, Stephen and Maya, who accompanied us. It was cold and muddy but we had a such great time and will definitely be going back (hopefully soon)!

This is a wonderful place for a after-work relax or family gathering!My wife and I spent two happy hours with the kids here, watching the sunset and beautiful field and colorful flowers. The horses are well trained and selected, tame and friendly . My kids just could not say goodbye to them. Most importantly, the staff Pascal and Amanda are super nice, professional at riding and humorous. The location is good, in the beautiful countryside while close enough to Montreal.Take your sun cream, mosquito repellent , sunglasses and water and enjoy the riding! We definitely will recommend this ranch to all our friends!
