Worked at Pine Acres full time for 4 years and parting for 5 years. When they closed, we didn’t get any severance pay even though this was something the union said they would fight for. Only employees with a line did. Also had many other issues throughout the years that the union did nothing about. Terrible union. Do not recommend

If you like being bent over a table and shafted for 4 months on end, then told its the best you could get so go with it. The BCGEU in the union for you!!! The prowess of there negotiations team is unmatched... At settling for deals that remove workers rights to refuse overtime, double the time for benefits to kick in and cover it up with the distraction of but hey

The Union and Bargaining Committee bullied us into accepting a deal that, in hindsight, is actually a huge step backward. We ratified with only 0.7%; they rushed the vote to exclude those who were out of town and would not allow them to place a ballot. Then, after scaring the employees into ratifying this new agreement with a split of 259:252, they have the audacity to send everyone an email stating how we're more unified than ever." Pretty sure it's basic mathematics that a 50/50 split is the most "un-unified" you can get.If you're considering a Union

Members of this union are calling for the resignation of Stephanie Smith! None of these union execs do anything useful. Why did the union stop the strike for an awful deal right when pressure had been applied? Sales went UP during the strike the government played you and you represent 33,000 people!
