DEVINE Distillery

Ok. I’ve been a whisky/whiskey amateur (almost fanatic…) for more than 3 decades, I’ve visited 86 distilleries in Scotland, I love anything that is well made and will give a try at any spirit that I don’t know if the reviews are interesting. I’m Canadian, and have tried a bunch of low batch artisan products made in our great country, and I can tell you that I was FLOORED by the quality of Devine’s Quarter Cask Ancient Grains whisky! If you come face to face with a bottle, first, make sure you look behind that bottle if there’s another one hiding, and don’t think twice buy that bottle (and get the one hiding behind…). That stuff puts to shame a bunch of Scottish distillers!!! It is exquisite and refined, complex and long in mouth! It is a world class, super high end product, a real deep pleasure to enjoy. 2 drams and 1/2 teaspoon of water. WHAM!! Immediate satisfaction!!! Thank you Devine, and kudos for this sublime Uisge beatha!!!!!——- UPDATE——- Someone told me that I had to try the Shelter Point, and I did. I bought a bottle of their ´Smoke and Oak’ whisky. I was very disappointed… In my humble opinion, Devine’s Ancient Grain is VASTLY superior! The Shelter Point had a weird after taste that I found unpleasant. I waited 3 days and gave it a try again, but with friends, also whisky amateurs, and we all agreed and came to the same conclusion: the Devine is vastly superior, more complex and rich, and very solid and mature whisky. Nothing weird. No attempts to try and be « special ». A good solid whisky. Kudos again to Devine. I just placed an order today for other whisky variations that Devine makes, and I can’t wait to receive the stuff!!! Kudos Devine, I love your liquid!!! Apparently something special will be released in the fall 2022???

de Vine is superb. Amazing views from this breathtaking start up. Wines are a bit young however their distillery is amazing. Ancient Grains whiskey is top notch. Gins... Wow! The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Go try it out as it's only a few minutes down the amazingly scenic West Saanich Road.

de Vine is a little gem on the Saanich Peninsula. This cottage industry makes wines and spirts made from exclusively BC sources. The scope of what they make is impressive. The honey Rum and Gins are particularly impressive as well as red and white wines. And on a nice clear day the view is one of the best anywhere in the area.

Amazing winery! The wine was delicious, service was awesome, and the view was beautiful! My boyfriend and I were came here on our last visit of Victoria and it was the best way to top off our vacation! Highly recommend coming here!

De Vine was a wonderful experience. We tried samples of both white (Fleur) and red wines(Foch) and loved them both. For us 5$ price of tasting was waived due to purchase of bottle of both white and wines. Staff were friendly and most amazingly the sciencey was just fantastic. Buy a bottle of de Vine wine and some cheese on site and enjoy some quality time. I highly recommend DE VINE!!

Gorgeous property and view. The staff are super friendly, very accommodating, and very knowledgeable.I was driving, but my wife and friends greatly enjoyed their tastings! Learned a lot in the descriptions of their distilled liquors and locally grown wines.

Last minute plans to swing by this distillery on our way back to our guest house and we are so glad we did! The view from the distillery is spectacular! The staff are excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks for the recommendation on dinner too, Bicycle Pizza was unbelievably good. We bought way too much gin, rum and whiskey to fit in our bag, but no regrets! Everything we've sampled so far is delicious.

Rene was an awesome host! You could tell that he truly loves what he does. The wine was great and the scenery was amazing!

The vineyard, wine and staff are all excellent. It is always a very welcoming place to visit with beautiful wines, friendly & knowledgeable staff and all set on the most spectacular grounds offering panoramic vistas over the Saanich Peninsula and San Juan Islands. I visit the vineyard several times a month in the summer, taking people from Vancouver on a bike tour of the area and it always proves one of the highlights of our day. Great vineyard, highly recommended!
