The YMCA in Marystown is awesome! They have great packages for visitors and locals alike. We are visiting from Peru and find the facilities for us and our children excellent. The prices are not extravagant and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

I would like to start this by saying that I love most YMCAs. The one in Marystown NL, however, is much different. The policys are messed up, the staff is rude and unpleasant to be around.I was told i had to schedule teen fit here in order to use the workout machines here, which I've already done at another Y, my younger brother (who's 11) wasn't allowed to swim at all, the staff smirked and scowled at me the entire time i was here and they threatened to kick me out because I wondered why i couldn't use the machines.

I love to go swimming, but swimming at the YMCA in marystown is brutal. The staff are rude and seriously don't want to be there. You have to be 13 to get into the water, so my 12 year old friends birthday was in about a week or so and they still wouldn't let him in. Smh.

Beautiful place, well laid out. Only small issue is that showers are super hot and you can't adjust the temperature

Good gym. Price is a bit much. Could use a couple different machines. Calf raise and leg press machine. It also would be nice to have separate bench press away from the squat racks

An absolutely beautiful facility with a bit of everything. Conditioning centre with lots of cardio and strength equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, stair machines, rowing machines, free weights, benches and weight machines. I love the walking/running track that circles the strength training area, so I can walk a lap or two between sets. Two pools, play pool with a small water slide, and a lane pool, are the perfect temperatures (play pool is warm, lane pool a little cooler which is great for higher activity levels) and immaculate. Aqua fit classes are available too. There is also a large gym for various fitness classes, and there are 1-2 classes most evenings and on weekends. There are also basketball nets, pickleball equipment and more available. All fitness classes are included in membership, which I think is HUGE value since most other fitness classes will run you $10-20 per session. The building is eco friendly (even has three EV charging spaces!) and super accessible and inclusive. Each floor has a filtered water station, helping reduce bottled water consumption. There are accessible cardio equipment, an elevator from the first floor to the conditioning centre and accessible washrooms on each floor. BOTH pools are accessible, with ramps entering them, and a proper pool wheelchair available for use. There is also an inclusive/family change room. There is child minding available as well, making it more accessible to parents, removing childcare as an extra barrier and expense.I can’t say enough good things about this YMCA! Staff and volunteers are super friendly and helpful. I moved from a different town and I immediately felt welcomed and comfortable at the Y.
