Escape Bicycle Tours and Rentals - Ottawa

I highly recommend Escape Bicycle Tours for anyone who is looking to explore the great city of Ottawa. My wife and I had an amazing time riding paths, trails, parks, streets and the neighborhoods with Nora. She made it a lot of fun, with stops along the route she let us know historical facts and answered any of our questions. The Escape bike shop was a welcoming place, staff were friendly. We rode Marin city bikes and they pedaled and rolled real nice, high quality and comfortable to ride. Thanks Escape and Nora for making the bike ride the highlight of our getaway. We will be back!

While in Ottawa, my daughter and I hired bikes from 'Escape Bicycle Rentals' and we took a self guided tour down the River to Bate Island where we then crossed the river and viewed the city form the Quebec side. Afterwards we travelled to Lake Leamy where we were able to tour the lake and enjoy the sights. It was a great way to get to know the city, it was really enjoyable to have good physical activity for the two and a half hours were we on the bike. Maria and her staff were wonderful, they gave us great directions as to what to do and were very friendly and helpful both at the start and the end of tour journey. I would strongly recommend Escape Bicycle Rentals for anybody looking for adventure on their stay in Ottawa. A wonderful experience.

This was our second time renting with them. Experience was excellent! They have upgraded their bikes and it made a big difference. Staff setting up our bikes were SO nice!!!!

I understand why they have such great reviews, renting here was so smooth & easy. We got awesome bikes which came with a helmet & lock, great advice on sightseeing in Ottawa, a map of the city, etc. It was around $175 after tax for 2 bikes for 3 days which was the cheapest price we found and all the staff were 10/10 amazing. Would rent from here anytime.

My wife Anne and I booked two Escape Bicycle Tours rides during our visit to Ottawa from Florida in early June of 2023. We could not have been more pleased! We did the Ottawa Express and the Best of Ottawa Neighborhoods and Nature tours. Both of our guides were excellent and very knowledgeable regarding the scenic highlights and history of the area. After our first ride we had a bit of a mix up regarding the location that we had parked our car. Grant was extremely helpful in assisting us in locating our parking facility and getting us on our way. Highly recommended!

What a great way to see downtown Ottawa and the riding path along the canal. Allison was a wonderful tour guide with a wealth of knowledge about the area. Definitely would recommend Escape tours if you are in town.

We had a terrific guided tour around Ottawa which set us up well for the rest of the week on our rental bikes. Great bikes. Great people. Made for a wonderful week of biking despite the weather!

Great experience overall. They are efficient in communicating any changes or updates to schedule via email. The guide on my booking was Alison( pardon if i got the name wrong), who was really wonderful and gave us a great history lesson at every place we stopped. We also got to meet the owner, who was friendly and welcoming. Very easy process to book online, intuitive website. Get there 10 mins prior to your booking time to ensure you check your bike and are comfortable to ride that for next couple of hours. Easy to access the store point. The staff is friendly and the ride is an easy one. The bikes are in good condition. Will try this again next time I'm in town.

My husband and I really enjoyed our bike tour today, Ottawa is a gorgeous city to explore by bike. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of all the sites we visited. The bikes are top notch and the helmets, water bottles and snack supplied hit the spot. Next time I’m renting an E-Bike as it makes the ride so pleasant! Well done!!

What a great company to rent from! :) Whether you are visiting the city or are local to Ottawa and looking to peddle around the core without hauling your own wheels downtown, Escape Bicycle Tours and Rentals offers great service, friendly staff, and well-tuned bikes (and scooters) for you to enjoy.Early in the spring, I decided a tandem bicycle would be a good option for my son (a very reluctant cyclist, but most wonderful copilot) so our family could get back on the bike paths together. Seeing a tandem was for sale at Escape, I reached out to Maria to figure out if renting was the better option before we committed to buying. Quick response, great information, honest commitment about timelines - this was perfect!When my son and I did end up renting, Maria and her team were friendly, welcoming (remembered our correspondence earlier in the spring) and provided a well-prepped bike. After an hour or so of riding, kiddo and I were sold! The rest of the family tried and when we got back to the shop, our mission was complete: we bought the used tandem that was for sale. A quick check up and minor maintenance by the team before it left the shop, and we are now proud owners of a bright red tandem bicycle that you will regularly see cruising the Ottawa Bike Path Network.
