Amazing, went for the first time recently and was not disappointed. The meat was super tender and everything I tried was delicious, the garlic naan bread tasted like it was baked when we ordered. I will definitely be returning.

Place has an authentic tandoor (oven). This is essential for an authentic taste.Been there twice hope to go more often.Realizing fresh food takes time we called ahead for starters and then ordered more once we got there.You can ask for different levels of spice to suit your taste.

We had a bit of a wait our first time dining in. But the food was amazing! I've had take out a few times and again, the butter chicken was the best ever! I love this place! I highly recommend, but be prepared to wait if you're dining in.

Delicious!Now, in full disclosure, we visited at 4pm on a weekday, 'before the rush'. We were the only customers at the time and things were still being prepped for the suppertime - the tandoori breads were still being baked, for example.But the meal was PERFECT - a free appetizer of fried strips of naan with chutney and raita, then our crispy and savoury Pakoras (with onion).Then into our main courses - I ordered a 'safe' butter chicken (it's rare for anyone to make THAT unpalatable) and the wife had Aloo Palak - potatoes in spinach & green chile sauce. We shared each and had some left over, so I wonder about people who complain about the serving sizes.The butter chicken was PERFECT - often the cubes of chicken breast tend to dry out, but these were tender and delicious. The sauce was the perfect blend of sweet with a barely spicy aftertaste. This was arguably the best rendition of this dish I've encountered in my travels, and it's definitely the best in town.The potato-spinach curry was good, too - again the potato chunks hadn't dried out, nor gotten soggy. It was a hotter dish - something I sadly can't tolerate easily - so I only had a small portion, but my wife loved it. Nose a little runny, and the recommendation as something to help with a headcold or sore throat. ;)As a mid-meal side dish, we split a piece of buttered naan; a large single round cut into four pieces, which we used to clean our plates and clear our palates.We were eager to try a dessert, but felt full enough to not want to 'spoil the meal.'All told, our bill was $25/person plus a well-earned gratuity.I am heartened that Mogul has moved to a location fairly close to me, bringing their wonderful fare within practically walking distance, and we've already planned our second visit!

My second visit here. With a new opening, I understood the need for a limited menu. However a 1 hour and 30 minute wait from the time of ordering was uncalled for. So our Friday evening (from 7:30 to 9:10) was spent waiting for food. They were at capacity and placed us at the owner's 'working table'. I asked for a table cloth to cover the table and at least make it look nicer, but all table cloths were at the laundry. So no candles, no table cloth. I said that's OK. We ordered at around 7:40 pm. And waited and waited...... unacceptable. The excuse was that all food was made fresh for each customer. This is Indian cuisine. With a limited menu, you can do most prep work ahead of time. The kitchen was definitely understaffed. No client comes goes out for supper expecting to wait for that long. Other tables also had a very long wait. For a new restaurant, you need to be over staffed to make that great first impression. The waitress was amazing and she did a superb job. Not sure what the owner was thinking when he planned the resourcing for that day, and the meal prep. We took the food to go, and portion sizes were small, for what we paid. I can go elsewhere to get as high a quality in food for less. And most restaurants don't charge for chutneys and pickles, this place does.I love supporting new local businesses, but this just didn't cut it for me. Service, price, food portions, all fell short.

Probably the best Indian cuisine available in the greater St. John's area. There was a bit of a wait, but the chicken practically melted in your mouth and the vegetarian dish was full of flavour.We finished our meal with a rice pudding that was light, nutty but not overly sweet. A great end to a great meal.

This was pathetic, we had a reservation for 7 PM. A group of 5 looking forward to an Indian meal. After waiting for half an hour we asked about getting served. Placed our orders and after another 45 minutes no sign of food, no appetizers, nothing. We asked numerous times what was going on but got no satisfactory answer. The waitress wasn't happy from the get go and was slamming plates down. Long story short we ended up waiting 2.5 hours and no food. Asked the owner what was going on and he said they were out of food. We left and a number of other tables did the same.

Great service and delicious food. We have booked a table a week ago. we have wait more than 30 minutes but when Appetizer was served it was very good . Naan and chicken and lamb karahee was excellent. They are preparing everything fresh compared to other restaurants that is why it takes time but the taste excellent. All the family have enjoyed the food.

One of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to. The place is pretty eclectic but the staff is great, food is even better. The prices are a little higher but worth every dollar!The chicken melted in your mouth and the vegetarian options are varied. Then garlic naan bread was an awesome addition to dip with. The rice pudding was amazing and topped with pistachios.

This was the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. The tables were sticky and you do NOT want to know what was on the bathroom walls! The water glasses were filthy. We waited an hour and only got our appetizers. One neighbouring table never got one of the dishes they ordered. One of their dishes was delivered to the table next to them and sat there for more than 5 minutes. The lady serving tables in sweatpants and a sweatshirt was told about the error and simply took the dish off the table and gave it to the other table.It was not busy. Only 12 people in the restaurant and one takeout order went out the door in that hour.When we ordered rice with our meals, the waitress told us we didn't need rice as it came with one of our selections.We got fed up waiting and watching the waitress and female owner argue and told them we wanted to take the meal to go. Occasionally the female owner would walk back into the kitchen and come out chewing food.We paid almost 90$. When we got home....The takeout containers leaked all over everything, the naan bread was burned and guess what......no rice.WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!Having worked in restaurants for more than a decade I can honestly say that this is the only time I have ever felt compelled to review a restaurant....and so badly.
