Masstown Butcher

I agree with the lack of consistency but I support this place wholeheartedly as I believe it hasn’t caught the strong wave of capitalism. They can perfect their consistency all we want but there is always a cost to our wishes. So I patiently go there from Halifax and buy what they have to offer.

Sorry I didn’t catch the butchers name, but he was very helpful and went well beyond his reach to help me with a brisket for a corned beef n cabbage preparation, he also gave great advice and his expertise was greatly appreciated, I’ll be back, thanks.

Growing up in Masstown I never thought a place like this would open in the area. I after my first visit I was stunned. The selection of locally sourced dairy and meats are incredible. The staff are attentive and go above and beyond to be helpful. Not only will I definitely make the Masstown Butcher Shop and Creamery a regular stop from now on, I will make sure to tell everyone I know to shop their.

This place is the best. Lots of cuts of meat. Bird flesh, cow flesh, pig flesh, delicious! Also, they have cow lactation and its byproducts in a variety of liquid and solid forms and varied flavours. YUM! That steak is about the size of a large pizza. Unfortunately that's a large 4% neanderthal hand in the foreground. If you were to put a banana in the background there would be shock and awe at this steak.

The meat is amazing... if they have any. We live a few hours away so normally only stop if we are passing through, however the last few times we have stopped the coolers have been nearly empty, we were told that we could call ahead of time and order which we thought would solve our problems. We called two days in advance and ordered 4lbs of sausage, asked for it to be vac packed in sets of four, also asked for 5 pounds of bacon to be vac packed into 5 packages (all frozen). Got there and all they had set aside was the sausage, no bacon. The sausage was packed in sets of two and we ordered two different types and nothing is labelled so we have no idea what is what. Very disappointed and will unfortunately not return as the lack of consistently available product (in particular when you call in advance to order) and poor service is not worth it.

Went here for the first time yesterday and will definitely be back.The man running the meat counter was thorough in explanations of the different cuts of meat and carefully picked out and packaged our Denver steaks and pork. The steaks were amazing and we will be enjoying the pork tonight. The other staff at the counter were friendly and kind.Everyone here seems to take pride in their work and it was amazing to see.
